In 1889 , the property was registered to Antonio (Anton) Battig (1832–1896) , a civil engineer who worked in Vienna and presented an innovative iron structure model at the Philadelphia World’s Fair in 1876 . Even today, looking out onto the internal balconies, you can still see the initials B.A. crafted in iron — a visible sign of his legacy.
