Other things to note Pritchels Yurt is part of Old Pound Smithy, a small collection of handcrafted accommodation and a traditional blacksmithing school. During your stay you may occasionally hear the gentle sound of hammers from the forge—a reminder that real craftsmanship is still alive here. If you'd like to have a go yourself, we also offer a range of blacksmithing experiences, from two-hour taster sessions to full-day and knife-making courses. The grounds have been lovingly rewilded over the past few years, creating a haven for wildlife. Keep an eye out for deer, kingfishers, owls, woodpeckers, dragonflies and a wide variety of songbirds. At night, with very little light pollution, the stars can be spectacular. Despite feeling wonderfully secluded, you're only a short drive from North Devon's beautiful beaches, dramatic coastal walks, charming villages and excellent pubs. The yurt has been individually designed and handcrafted, so you'll discover thoughtful little details throughout—including our tiny straw mouse hidden within the walls.
