It is in the heart of Villers-Bretonneux, a few steps from the Australian National Memorial and the Sir John Monash Center, and very close to Amiens, its Gothic cathedral and its Hortillonnages that Jean-Louis and Mercedes welcome you to their property for a break. Old outbuildings renovated into pretty guest rooms, "La Grange du Verger" has two comfortable guest rooms: a single room for 2 people and a family room for 4 people. The space It was in April 2018 that Mercedes and Jean-Louis decided to embark on this new adventure: to open a bed and breakfast. After a year of renovation work, "La Vigne", the first guest room of La Grange du Verger, opens its doors to visitors from all over the world to offer them a moment of relaxation and change of scenery. An old outbuilding renovated into a nice traditional and modern guest room for two people, "La Vigne" has all the comforts you need to make the most of your stay. It consists of a large comfortable double bed, reversible air conditioning, electric heating, a large wardrobe and a TV. The private bathroom adjacent to the bedroom has a large shower, a double sink and a toilet. A hairdryer, pillows and extra blankets are also available for your comfort. Free Wi-Fi is available during your stay. Every morning, Jean-Louis and Mercedes prepare a generous breakfast consisting of pastries, bread, yogurts, cheese, fruit, tea, coffee... During the summer season, Mercedes and Audrey will let you taste the fruits of the garden through the preparation of delicious treats... Service takes place between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. in the property's common dining room. It is also in this room, to which is attached an equipped kitchen, that you will have the opportunity to prepare and take your lunch and/or dinner in complete freedom. The kitchen has a gas stove with gas oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a sideboard. Lunch and dinner, however, are at your expense. Only breakfast is included. The property is adorned with a beautiful garden where many fruit and ornamental trees and flowers come together to form a soothing natural setting. During your stay, you have free access to it in order to recharge your batteries and meet the domestic or wild animals that give life to the "Grange du Verger". An amateur pigeon fancier, Jean-Louis will enthusiastically introduce you to and share his passion for this traditional sport of Picardy. During your stay We are at your disposal for the duration of your stay as well as at the time of booking to answer your questions and meet your expectations. Other things to note Riders, La Grange du Verger has recently acquired separate and secure enclosures to accommodate your mounts for the duration of your stay. We also provide hay and water. Depending on the season, your horses will be able to enjoy the apples from the garden after the effort. Price for hosting horses: €5/horse/day in addition to the price of the night (to be paid on site). Possibility to park a vehicle and a van on the property (protected). Many trails, including the European Route of d'Artagnan, recently labeled on the Picardy territory, allow you to discover the region on horseback, by bike or on foot and enjoy the exceptional landscape, calm and nature. In addition, our property has recently been labeled "Accueil Vélo". Thus, for all cycling enthusiasts, we provide bicycles of different sizes. However, if you prefer to come with your own bikes, we have bike storage and tools to repair or re-inflate them if needed. Many routes located along the Somme Valley, on the Chemin du Halage, allow you to discover the territory safely. Finally, Villers-Bretonneux is an essential stop on the Chemin du Souvenir for all Australians and more broadly for visitors. That's why we're part of the Somme Battlefields' Partner network.
