Other things to note If you love to fish you can charter deep sea fishing, flounder gigging, and go bay fishing. Dolphins can be spotted. Bird migration is great here we get the whooping cranes at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. Rockport beach is a one mile stretch named one of the cleanest beaches around. Fishing tournaments throughout the year. Oyster Fest in March. Art Festival in July. Sea Fair in October Third weekend market days in Rockport. June see new turtle hatchlings get released at Malaquite Beach (a beautiful all natural beach) on Padre Island National Seashore .Worth a day out bring a lunch and stay to swim and enjoy the beach (very remote has bathroom and showers). Texas Aquarium in Corpus is great fun and the Lexington aircraft carrier is close by in Corpus Christi.
