If you want to experience the northern lights, Skibotn is one of the places with the most clear weather days. There is also the possibility of dog sledding and snowmobiling. If you like hiking, there are many hiking trails within walking distance, both in forests, mountains and by the sea. The house is spacious with good space both outside and inside with all facilities, and is centrally located within walking distance to the shop and café. Welcome! Other things to note Perfect for viewing the Northern Lights: Dry climate creates few clouds, along with very weak light pollution. Skibotn is a small village: 560 inhabitants. The village is located 120 km from Tromsø. * When tour operators in Tromsø seek the Northern Lights, they often go to Skibotn! * The University of Tromsø has established a northern lights observatory in Skibotn because the conditions are so good here. Activities: hiking, skiing, biking, kayaking, fishing in the sea/river, dog sledding, midnight sun. * Fishing: Skibotn is located along the Lyngenfjord with different types of fish. You can walk to the coast/fjord in 15 minutes, 1.5 km. Popular with fishing rod from the coast. There are many good fishing lakes in the mountains. * Tours: Short tours: Svarteberget and Hengen. Slightly longer trips to Sledo, Vardan or Bohlmannsveien/Russeveien. In Skibotndalen there are many excellent hiking trails such as Golda, Gappo and Treriksrøysa. Lullestien is close to E8 in Skibotndalen, 2.5 km long, passes through forests that have a primeval forest character, while other places are strongly influenced by modern culture. * In winter you can drive by snowmobile to Finland, Sweden, Signaldalen, Kitdalen and Oteren. * Rovijokfossen is an attraction up in Skibotndalen. The waterfall falls 25 meters and overlooks plateaus on both sides. * Shopping and groceries in Kilpisjävri in Finland, 47 km, 35 minutes drive: good and cheap grocery store, restaurants that serve cheap and good hot meals. * Lyngen Alps; 45 min drive, 50 kilometers.
