You can stop and drop off bags outside the house in the lane opposite the cottage. **About the house My house is a pretty, stone cottage (built around 1900). It's in a terraced row of similar stone cottages. It has three floors/levels. The living space is perfect for entertaining a small group or family. It's large and open plan (have a look at the floor plan), with a lovely cosy wood burning stove, very large oak table with seating for 8, two large sofas, sand smallish SMART TV. From the house it's also more or less 5 minutes' walk to: - the 3 local pubs, including the lovely Bull Inn (recently bought and refurbished by Pelican from Notting Hill, London - incredible food and tipped for a Michelin star), the Bell Inn (recently bought and refurbished by Lady Bamford of Daylesford Organics fame), and the award-winning Rose and Crown pub (for ales etc - not for food) - Charlbury train station (trains to Oxford and to London in just over an hour, and Malvern, and in the other direction to Moreton-in-Marsh, Worcester etc) - the bus stop, with buses to Oxford/Woodstock/Blenheim - the lovely Charlbury Deli (cafe) - Chloe's cafe - Amarelo Brazilian restaurant - the Co-op grocery store, which is open 7am-10pm, 7 days a week - a libary/cafe/gym/sports hall/tennis court... and fantastic play park for kids, which is part of the new public library (including children's section) and which also has a lovely cafe inside and an outside patio with picnic tables, playing field, etc - a post box 20 metres away - the pharmacy (drug store) - the barber shop - the beauty shop - the picture framing store - church (you might hear the bells on the hour from the front room) By car, it's a 15-minute drive to Blenheim Palace, Witney, Soho Farmhouse/ Daylesford/ Woodstock/ Blenheim Palace... *For children: - one pop-up travel cot (crib) with foam mattress and protector and fitted sheet (please bring your own top bedding) - books - plastic plates, crockery etc ** Have a look at the floorplan but here is a more detailed summary of the house layout: Ground floor: - Living room: very large open plan living/eating area with 7 foot table, 8 foot old oak church pew and modern white chairs, wood burning stove, TV (with Freeview, Netflix, guitar which you are welcome to use. - Kitchen: fully equipped adult kitchen with Range-style, 90cm wide Stoves oven and induction hob (the kitchen has been updated since I took these photos!), microwave, Quooker kitchen tap (which gives boiling water and tasty, filtered drinking water), cafetiere for making coffee, dishwasher, four-slice toaster, big fridge freezer, washing machine. You would eat at the big dining table next door, inside the open plan living area but there is a perch for one person at the end of the kitchen worktop - I've created a mini breakfast bar for one kitchen companion! - Private patio: with large table and 8 chairs, with steps a small, private lawn, with Springfree trampoline (use at your own risk, with no shoes please!) and jasmine... NB There are steps from the patio up to the garden (lawn) so small children under age 3 need to be supervised outside or you can just put a chair to block the staircase... - Huge new Springfree trampoline, which you are welcome to use, with no shoes, at your own (low) risk. Please use shoes to walk to the trampoline and wear socks on the trampoline. My daughter looks after it very well and has rules! :) ** First floor: - Bedroom 1 - with super king zip and link bed, with extremely comfortable, firm, pocket sprung mattress, white cotton linen and fresh white towels. Wardrobe and chest of drawers. Pretty view onto the road and lane opposite. Blackout Roman blind for long lie-ins... Welcome to set up the travel cot here or it will also just fit in bedroom 2. - Bedroom 2 – small double bed (4 ft 6 inches), cupboard with shelves, lamp. Desk and chair so its own workspace. Looks out onto the garden. The window blind is pretty dark but not total blackout. There is no wardrobe in here. Best for one person. - Bedroom 3 - a 4ft bed (so wider than a single bed) for one person. Not much more will fit in there but a bedside chest. - Bedroom 4 - a 6 ft superking on the top floor - Bathroom 1 - ensuite with bath, to the top floor bedroom. - Bathroom 2 – on first floor, shared with new, large walk-in shower (rain head and also hand held shower head), basin and WC, underfloor heating under a porcelain-tiled floor, on a timer, towel heater, and a mirror demister comes on with the fan switch.
