Island in Lake Baringo

Beautiful and peaceful private camp on remote island on Lake Baringo, with all amenities in place; incl. Swimmingpool. The space You have the camp on half the island for your private use. There are 4 bedrooms, each with double bed and attached bathroom (shower, toilet and wash basin; all with running water). Kids can stay with you in the tent, or in the ‘Eagle’s nest’ next to the dining- and living area. The kitchen is basic, though fully equipped with fridge/freezer (solar powered), cooker and all utensils. There are 3 camp staff present: Maggie is housekeeper and teamleader, Joseph is gardener/pool-maintenance and Simeon is guard/gardener. They will assist you where needed. In case you would like to hire a cook, we can organise for that (at Ksh 1,500 p/day). Guest access You will arrive by boat (coming and going is included in booking price) from Kampi ya Samaki. There is a (paid) guarded car park at Kampi ya Samaki. It is a bit of a walk up from the island shore to the camp, on a well maintained path. Access can be difficult for people with walking disabilities. Other things to note The camp being on an island is a unique experience in the middle of nature. At specific times of the year, there can be more insects than usual (like the millipede and ants). Also there can be mosquito's, so please do ensure to bring repellant for your own comfort. The tents are equipped with mosquito netting. Bookings are for the whole camp and minimum cost includes 4 guests. Additional guests (up to a max of total 8 guests) pay an additional fee per night.
