The power station has a 230v 3 pin plug sockets for low power devices like phones and laptops, as well as interior lighting. Please note due to the width of the cabin, anyone over 6ft tall might start to feel a bit restricted in their sleeping position. One guest described the experience as luxury wild camping. This is very apt I think. Please be aware this is in the middle of an English woodland, when it rains the outside will be wet, there are bugs who sometimes find there way into the cabin, when it’s dark it will be dark in the woods. Inside is a single burner suitable for boiling a kettle and light cooking. The cabin is well insulated and has a gas heater on to use on colder nights. bedding, sheets and pillows are supplied. Outside is a full outdoor kitchen with a double gas burner, pizza oven and large food preparation area. A large brick fire pit with cooking grate can be used for cooking. BBQ'ing or just sitting around the camp fire. Cutlery, cookware, pots, pans and crockery is all provided including cast iron cookware to use on the open fire. Guests will need to provide their own fire wood and PLEASE do not take or burn any wood from the forest. A gas water heater provides hot water for the outdoor shower. The cabin has an outdoor camping loo, simple but gets the job done! ***VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ*** The cabin opened in late September 2025, so we are very much learning how to improve the guest experience and making improvements all the time. WINTER BOOKINGS Please be aware if you are booking in winter, depending on the conditions it is likely to cold and wet. Being an off grid cabin in a private woods it’s purposely not treated like a commercial camp site. So it will be muddy, there is minimal exterior lighting as not to interfere with wild life. The woods will be dark at night. This isn’t a luxury spa lodge in the woods. Please be mindful of this. Please bring suitable wet weather clothing, wellies etc. The outdoor shower will likely not work in close to or sub zero temperatures, as the water in the pump and feed lines will freeze. Guest access Access to the woods is via a stone farm track which is directly off the main road. Once in the woods, there's a well used track where you can drive to and park. The cabin is roughly a 1 minute walk from where guests park. Only ONE vehicle is permitted to enter the woods per stay. Please note that the track would not be suitable for low slung sports cars. The woodland is located just outside the town of Olney, a hub full of wonderful boutique shops, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and amenities. Olney is around a 3-5 min drive from the cabin or around a 20 minute walk. Some of the areas best and most historic walking routes surround the woods and Olney. Milton Keynes is a 15 minute drive in the opposite direction. Other things to note The woodland is a truly special place, it's been cared for and preserved for many decades to create this unique natural bubble. It's belonged to same family for over 60 years, and its custodian "Phil" you may see him and/or cross paths with as he works there most days to preserve the ecology of the woods and maintain it's health. Please be aware that this has been created as an off-grid cabin not a commercial camp site. You won’t find maps, signs etc. The site is kept as natural as possible. If you encounter any serious issues we’re here to help in any way possible, but if you go for a walk and get lost you’ll have to figure it out! Obviously if you’re truly lost then of-course we’ll help. CHECK IN - you’ll be checked in by a member of my family. They’ll meet you a few minutes drive away from the cabin, take you up to the site and show you the set up. A meeting time must be coordinated in advance. POWER - The power station is for low power devices like phones, tablets etc. Not kettles, blenders, hair straighteners, it won’t be able to cope and will likely fail. We recommend you conserve the power when you don’t need it. When you go to sleep and are not needing to charge anything, we recommend you turn it off. Like wise when you leave the cabin. The power setup has been checked and certified by a professional electrician. The only risk is running out! If everything is left on all the time 😊 A cool bag or box will be provided which can be filled with ice.
