Log house in a pleasant courtyard, Flatdal, Seljord

Welcome to the farm here with us. The old cozy log cabin is idyllically located on the sunny slope of our farmyard, the large open outdoor area. Flatdal is a very good starting point for good hikes, long and short bike and car trips. The house has two bedrooms, a bright and lovely living room with dining area, fireplace, views of the courtyard and the village. Although the handcrafted house is old, it has electricity, water, heaters, kitchen and bathroom with shower. A quiet and idyllic place for adults and children. The space Our small farm is located in a quiet and nice location in Flatdal in Seljord municipality, not too far from the former E134 road which is the main road between the east and west of Norway. Flatdal is centrally located in the middle of Øvre-Telemark. There is a grocery store nearby and 3 km to the famous artist hotel at Nutheim. Flatdal is a quiet and peaceful village, between the mountains Skorve, Mælefjell and Bindingsnuten. In the area there are many hiking trails, short, long, steep or on flat ground. It is a great starting point for short or long bike rides, or car trips to nearby or slightly distant large or small experiences/attractions. It is only 10 minutes by car to the municipal center Seljord, which is known for the annual Dyrskun' as well as several other festivals, a rich artistic community, great opportunities for hiking, cycling and trips by car and along Seljordsvatnet there are of course opportunities to search for the mysterious sea serpent. «Sogevegen om Nutheim» is a newly opened (2022) experience and activity road, through the villages of Flatdal, Svartdal and Hjartdal. This can offer great hiking trails, activities, art and culture in a fantastic nature, here you can experience good restaurants, old shop, school house, mill and meeting places. The charming log cabin is handmade from timber on this site and is located by itself in the yard of our farm, overlooking the village. Although it is old, it has running water and electricity, electric heaters, shower and toilet, as well as heated floors in the bathroom. Nevertheless, it is possible to light the fireplace and enjoy the cozy living room. There are hobs in the kitchen and of course a coffee maker, kettle, cups and pots. One bedroom has a double bed and a single bed in a bunk bed solution, while the other has a regular bunk bed. Gunhild and I have of course cleaned up before you arrive and there are towels available. There is seating to eat outside in the yard in nice weather and space to play on the lawn. We also have a fire pit with good chairs where you can sit and enjoy the summer day, evening or night. The dachshund Ellie is the farm dog who likes everyone, both children, adults and other four-legged friends. Some weeks during the summer we have a visit from two horses that help us to maintain the green areas. You can park the car in the courtyard. Guest access As guests with us, you have the entire log cabin and have access to the courtyard. Other things to note We have the dog Ellie, so two- and four-legged are very welcome, as long as they get along with small dogs like dachshunds of course.
