By preserving original materials, design elements, and murals, Seclude Karthika Nivas is more than a stay — it’s a living project of cultural conservation, where each guest becomes part of its continuing story. ___________________________ 📍 The space At the heart of the home lies the Nalukettu courtyard, a central open-air space where light filters through and guests naturally gather to connect. Around it, the villa unfolds into elegant rooms adorned with: - Red oxide floors polished to perfection - Hand-carved wooden pillars crafted by traditional artisans - Wind-guiding window grills that welcome breezes through the day - Traditional murals and artwork telling stories of a bygone era While steeped in heritage, the home is equally equipped with modern comforts. Spacious bedrooms, elegant bathrooms, and thoughtfully designed common spaces create a balance of authenticity and ease. Guests also have access to a serene wellness space inspired by Kerala’s ancient healing practices, ideal for meditation, yoga, or simply slowing down. Guest access Guests enjoy private access to their rooms and bathrooms, along with shared access to the Nalukettu courtyard, dining areas, gardens, swimming pool and the riverside spaces. The retreat’s intimate size allows for peace and privacy, while common areas encourage cultural exchange and quiet conversations. Other things to note The property is part of a living heritage project, so design elements are preserved as authentically as possible. Wi-Fi is available, though we encourage a partial digital detox to enjoy the atmosphere fully.
