Riverbank Acres: Vineyard Room

At Riverbank Acres we run a small, traditional Bed and Breakfast where travellers in the Similkameen Valley are welcomed as guests in our home. Breakfasts are homemade in my kitchen featuring seasonal produce from the garden and local fruit stands nearby. There is no kitchen for guests but there is a dining table, a well stocked hutch and a small fridge available at our outdoor patio area, where you would be welcome to prepare a light meal. The space Our home is nestled between our orchard and the Similkameen River so peace and quiet are pretty much guaranteed. This beautiful, air conditioned bedroom overlooks the orchard and has its own private, ensuite bathroom. There is also a private entrance that leads directly to the garden. Guest access All guests are welcome to explore and enjoy the property including an outdoor patio area by the river and the orchard. Please know there is no kitchen available to use, so it’s a good excuse to eat out at one of the many wonderful restaurants nearby :) Out on the patio, which overlooks the river, you will find a dining table, a cozy sitting area, a well stocked hutch, and a small fridge for your use in case you want to grab a takeout meal or prepare something light to enjoy on the property. During your stay I live on site with my husband and son, so I am available to answer any questions you may have. Interaction wise - I will pick up what you put down :) If you want a quiet, peaceful visit, I will happily leave you to it. If you’ve got questions to ask and stories to tell, go for it! I always enjoy turning strangers into friends. I’m available by cell or email if I am offsite. Other things to note I love to cook, so don’t be shy about sharing your dietary restrictions and/or preferences for breakfasts. Vegan or gluten free? Our valley is the organic capital of Canada and we have a plethora of healthy fruits and veggies I can whip into something special. Know what you like and like what you know? Tell me your favs. Eggs and bacon, toast and jam, eggs Benny? The classics are classic for a reason. In training for a big bike ride or marathon? I can do high protein/high cal. Or something light for breakfast and a pocketful of portable breakfast cookies for when you hit the road. Hearty breakfasts can be enjoyed al fresco on our patio overlooking the river.
