Home sweet home

Our house is located in the south part of Gotland at very central of the Hemse. The house was built 1926 by Henning Svensson ,a famous fotograf during the time. He, his father( painter) and his son Lasse Svensson , have left a lot footprints on the house which should be considered as a culture heritage. It is not only the house which is very special and the garden too. There are a lot of special places in the south part of Gotland like Rauk and beach area Holmhällar, just for one example. The space The house and garden is quite big, it is very suitable for a big family with tre or fem children . Pets like dog are welcome too. The backyard supply a place for children or dog playing and running around. The garden is separated by pump house and espalier , the host and our guest share the garden but still have their own space. We need to work in the garden and take care vegetables and flowers with is on the side our guests live. There is free parking in front of the house or inside the gate. The house offers generous space and the garden has a lot of privacy and the gate prevents children or dog from running away. There are place for parking both for car and bike. The garden is separated with the pump house and trellis which makes the host and guests have their own space but as the garden needs to be constantly managed and watered, guests should be indulgent that we work in the garden on the annex side where guests stay. There is a lack of water on the island during summer. Groundwater sinks after the season and there is a lack of water for cow and plants. Grateful for your consideration! During your stay We would like to be available when you come . If we are not we will let you know in advance. We like also share our experiences about the house, the Hemse society and beautiful island according our knowledge. We are available upon your arrival. If we happen to be unavailable, we'll let you know in advance. We like to share everything around the house , the Hemse community, the island ,history and culture as much as we can . We are happy to help plan your activities in the island and tell us about places worth visiting. Other things to note We live in the same house as our guests. We do not rent out the entire house, just a side part of the house, called annexet in swedish. We share the garden and dryer in the garden. Sometimes I need to go around and take care of flowers and vegetables near annexet. Waste seperation is a duty in Gotland . In my house we spare the food waste in container to make soil. I wish that my guests put your food waste in kompos container in garden or you leave the food waste and we will do to do it. A separate part of the house with a duck annex is rented. We live and share the house and garden garden with guests. Basement sorting is applied here on Gotland and also here in the house . It is desirable that guests leave their food scraps in the compost ,or to us.
