La Labranza, is one of two houses (the other being El Pajar), that are part of the Bohemian Hideaway finca/estate on Gran Canaria. Once a dilapidated Canarian farmhouse, the 150 year old building was restored in 2006 and was granted a license by the islands tourist board to open as a rural holiday home. The space Through big wooden doors, La Labranza opens out into your own beautiful private courtyard that is decorated with Moroccan seating cushions and colourful glass lamps. A corridor around the courtyard separates the two bedrooms, bathroom, and kitchen. The wooden floored living/dining room space is a fusion of modern design classics with traditional architecture. Wooden Wishbone chairs from Hans J. Wegner compliment the glass dining table illuminated by an Artishoc lamp from Louis Poulsen that hangs from a wooden beam. Wallpapers from England's Cole & Son, as well as colours from Farrow and Ball, decorate the rooms. Access to the living and dining room is via outdoor steps, where an east facing balcony faces the mountains so one can enjoy the sun's rays over a morning coffee. La Labranza house has all the modern comforts of home and can host up to 4 guests in two double bedrooms, with the option of adding an extra single bed. As of 2019, we have a second outdoor terrace area away from the pool with extra sunbeds, a dining table, and space to practice yoga/pilates (mats provided) with spectacular views of the mountains. An outdoor BBQ kitchenette area with a washing sink, table and chairs are also here for all our guests to enjoy. Please note: the garden, the pool area and the new outdoor terrace are shared spaces between La Labranza and El Pajar guests. The pool is not heated. During the winter months, the water is very cold, although many guests practice the Hof Method, for its health benefits. Other things to note For those wishing to book with larger groups of family and friends, La Labranza can be rented together with El Pajar, the second house on the finca.
