Casa Mifragi is located in the very heart of the historic center of Montefranco, a small town in the province of Terni, just 7 km from the Marmore Falls. It is a small but comfortable house. Looking out of the kitchen window with such a view is truly a spectacle. The apartment is located in Via del Palazzo 18, 20 meters from the door of the Hotel Roccaranne. It consists of a bedroom with a double bed and a bunk bed. The space The parking lot is located near the accommodation. Once the car is parked, you will have to go up to the historic center, pass an arch and go along one of the classic brick stairs that characterize the Umbrian villages. Once the door is open, you will find 3 steps that will take you to the kitchen... a very small but comfortable kitchen equipped with all the comforts, including the dishwasher and a sofa bed. Going up another 2 steps, we will have the sleeping area with the bathroom with shower, double bedroom with double bed and a bunk bed for your little ones. In total 6 beds... the beauty of this accommodation is the view... it will be fantastic to have breakfast overlooking the window... Other things to note The small village of Montefranco is well preserved. Of the structure of the castle of Bufone, typical of the castles of Poggio, the external walls and two gates remain: the Franca gate oriented south towards Arrone, from which the tax-free goods passed; the Spoletina gate, in the opposite direction, connecting to the capital. Nearby, a plaque recalls that San Bernardino da Siena stayed in the village. Walking inside the village, through streets with curious names, you go from one door to another, encountering buildings of artistic interest. The church of Santa Maria Assunta preserves a large, richly sculpted baptismal font. Of medieval origin, it was enlarged to three naves at the time of Pope Eugene IV (15th century). Moving away from the old part of the village on Via Anita Garibaldi, you reach the church of the Madonna del Carmine, with 17th-century frescoes of the Umbrian school and a 16th-century Ascension. Outside the village, on the road that leads to Arrone, buildings of interest are also the former Convent, the church and the oratory of San Bernardino. They are currently home to a private holiday home. A few kilometers away you can find the Museum of Mummies, which exhibits ancient mummies of the inhabitants of the town. The museum was created at the end of the 19th century, when excavations in the crypt of the old village church brought to light numerous mummified bodies, some of them with well-preserved clothing. Over the years, however, the humid air entering through the windows began to compromise the state of conservation, both of the clothes and of the mummies themselves. It was precisely to avoid further damage and thanks to the great interest aroused by the phenomenon that in 1992 it was decided to create a new museum and to use new display cases for the conservation of the bodies. The Marmore Falls, located in Umbria a few kilometers from Terni, is one of the most spectacular artificial waterfalls in the world. With its 165 meters of total height, distributed over three jumps, it represents an extraordinary work of Roman engineering that integrates perfectly with the natural landscape.
