The Yew House

Named after the beautiful Yew Tree in our yard, this cozy, peaceful house is a labor of love built by our family entirely from scratch over the years. Still a work in progress, it is an ideal spot for anyone looking for some peace and quiet, surrounded by nature. With the feel of a wellness retreat, and just a 20 minute drive outside of dynamic Nelson, BC., and approximately half hour drive to Whitewater ski hill, guests appreciate the tranquil atmosphere of this beautiful property. The space Our home is very quiet and peaceful, and although a great place for socializing, we request that there be no parties please. Guests have access to the entire ground floor, which has its' own private entrance, and is completely separate from the upper level. Being so quiet, guests may hear some footsteps above. Although it is a private suite, since the home owners live in the upper level of the house, and neighbours are not too far away, it's probably not ideal for a romantic getaway, and more suited to a single person, friends, a couple, or small family looking to enjoy the local skiing and such. The Yew house is a particularly nice place for writers, artists, or musicians looking for some peace and quiet, surrounded by nature, or someone with young children who enjoy a magical natural surrounding full of trees, flowers in summer, birds, squirrels, and sometimes deer, elk, and rabbits in their natural habitat. It is a friendly neighborhood with a mix of young families and retirees. Guest access Guests have access to entire ground floor, which has a separate, private entrance, and is completely separate from the upper floor. There is ample free parking. During the winter, vehicles should have winter or all-season tires in the area. Other things to note This home features all-incandescent lighting, with no LED lights, which contributes to the warm, cozy and well-lit atmosphere. The tap water here is of some of the best quality found anywhere in the world. There is cable TV and wi-fi.
