A chateau just for you

In the heart of the Loire Valley, 15 km from Tours, Villandry and Azay-le-Rideau, the castle of Breuil invites you to its prestigious private apartment located on the 1st&2d floor. 120 acres of private parkland, trees, river, swimming pool to share. The space Perhaps you've spent the day gawping at one of the great châteaux of the Loire (Amboise, Villandry) imagining what it might be like to actually live there. Now you can indulge in a little taster session at this splendid apartment in a smaller-scale, 19th-century, slate-turreted confection. Stairs ( of course !) bring you to the first floor where luminous high-ceilinged rooms are a sophisticated and engaging fusion of traditional château chic and contemporary style... the kitchen is state-of-the-art but a fine old dresser harks back. The bathroom, delicious surprise, is lavish ; note the views to the parkland and the claw-foot bath in Pompadour pink. There's a similarly grand four-poster bedroom and two more modest but sweet rooms on the next floor up. The vast parkland with fine old forest trees and a lazy stretch of the Indre is a place to get happily lost in.
