The story begins with a boy who at a young age got a new home far from Lofoten, but which life later led back to his roots – to Reine. Here, both the family and the memories, closely tied to the sea and those who have lived by it for generations. His father was a whaler aboard the fishing vessel Draugen, a boat with roots in northern Norwegian fishing traditions. Life on board was rough, but full of tough will and a print of the unpredictable ocean. Many of the objects in the cabin – worn catching tools – boat in roof- ropes - photos are authentic memories of this time. They give the room a raw, beautiful patina and reminiscent of a life in confrontation with the edge of nature. The name Casp-Ara Pier is an honor to his morlille. "Casp-Ara" was the woman who brought him in and taught him love, safety, and care. The name was carried with pride through the upbringing – and now it is pressed in the cabin with respect and gratitude. The name is therefore more than words – it's a journey of returning home, about roots, belonging and the infinite bond between people and the sea. Casp-Ara Pier is not just a building.
