Our country cottage honours the beautiful architectural tradition of rural Romania. Please note that the price is for only one suite for two persons. Ask for details in your booking inquiry! For New Year's please contact us for the quotation. It is located in a picturesque village, in the middle of a spacious homestead and very close to the forest. Remote, but a great location of access to the main roads to/from BUCHAREST & TRANSYLVANIA: TRANSFĂGĂRĂȘAN, SIBIU, BRAN, BRAȘOV. The space Our cottage was built with respect for the rural architecture, it encompasses elements which we inherited from our great-grandparents whose old house inspired this "younger sister". It was built mainly with natural materials such as wood and straw and it is surrounded by a great patio which opens into our beautiful garden and orchard. The cottage consists of three individual suites plus a common suite dedicated to kitchen/dining at the ground floor and a library/working space in the attic. All three individual suites have a ground level, arranged as a small living area, equipped with a sofa bed and an attic, arranged as sleeping area with ensuite bathroom. The house is located on a (very :) ) secondary road in the village, in a splendid and picturesque neighbourhood. The house is surrounded by our 5000 square meters homestead - orchard, garden, yard, backyard, pasture and animals (chicken, ducks, geese, goats and of course cats and one lovely dog). Our orchard has very old nut trees, mature apple trees, and young fruit trees of all sorts. And grapes. And raspberries. :) Interaction with guests Upon request, we proudly offer a delightful and rich traditional Romanian breakfast, using exclusively natural products, home made or from local farming, including the most precious local product - round pressed & smoked cheese. Please ask us in advance about cooking for you. Also, upon request we can provide traditional lunch / dinner / barbecue. Guest access Fell free to drink your coffee in any of the verandas, to have a lazy walk in the garden, sit barefoot on the grass, read or sleep in the hammock under our ash trees, pick some raspberries or some apples, climb in the walnut or use any other space in & out the house at heart's desire. Other things to note * Upon request, we happily cook breakfast, lunch and dinner – we prefer savoury local recipes, using basic ingredients from our very own land or nearby, which we cook slowly, in cauldrons or cast-iron pots. Home-made bread and 100% Arabica coffee. Not to be missed – we are in the Homeland of Smoked&Pressed Cheese and of Țuică (a mild and flavourful home-made plum brandy). * The internet connection is fast, good speed (via optic fiber). Also, an office for videocalls / streaming / zoom conferences is available. * Linens, towels, soap, shower gel etc. – all included. * One of Silviu’s passions is massage (certified studies, using a professional massage bed). Be it inside home or under the clear blue sky, be it classical relaxing massage or foot massage or even using warm stones – this may be an experience to remember. * Few bikes available to explore nearby gravel roads, pathways and hills. *Since we live in Romania’s countryside, it is not uncommon to hear the dogs barking during night and roosters in the morning. For our guests having a quite shallow sleep, perhaps the best solution is using earplugs during night. *Since we are surrounded by a natural reserve, it is not uncommon for bugs to sneak into the house from time to time. Still, there are no lethal insects in our region – but if this makes you more comfortable, you can bring your antibug spray. *We don’t have any patch of perfectly short trimmed lawn or perfect plain piece of land, but we enjoy hundreds of wild plants, we don’t spray dangerous chemicals on our vegetables and trees just to make them look big and shiny. Beauty is everywhere here and we just try to keep the natural pace of all things around – which may not always resemble a perfect photo. *Given the drought of this season, the water for shower should be used responsibly.
