The Bassari Cabin

Welcome to Ibel, my village, in the heart of Pays Bassari. You will stay in a small traditional hut, surrounded by nature, roosters and children playing. The common areas are also those of my family: we eat together, we chat, and if you feel like it, you can participate in the life of the village. Besides being your host, I'm also a local guide. I know the region well and can take you to see villages lost among mountains, ancient baobabs and roads that do not appear on the maps. The space You will sleep in a traditional hut built with local materials, cool during the day and quiet at night. It has everything you need to rest: bed, mosquito net and fan. Although it is simple, it offers an authentic and different experience than usual. It's right next to our huts, but you'll have your space and privacy when you need it. Ibel is a village located in the heart of Pays Bassari, making it a perfect strategic enclave to get to know the entire region. Guest access The room is private, but you will share the common areas with us, such as the patio or dining room. Right in front is the bathroom and shower, which, as tradition dictates, is done with buckets of water. Simple, yes, but functional. There's no wifi, but there are good conversations, shared meals, and starry skies. During your stay During your stay here, anything can happen — and everything is unforgettable! Your immersion in Ibel and its culture will be total. I have been hosting people from many different countries for 5 years, and during this time my guests have attended local christenings, traditional festivals and participated in our customs. This is not a conventional accommodation; it is an experience and an adventure that you will remember forever.
