The house is tucked into the back of our 300-acre working dairy farm and offers breathtaking views of Mt. Mansfield. We are located in between two of Vermont's best ski resorts, Jay Peak and Smuggler Notch. Come for a winter adventure full of downhill skiing, riding or x-country touring. Stay for the local breweries, distilleries and restaurants. Or just relax at the farm, cozy up by the wood stove and cook up some delicious farm raised food for dinner. Well behaved dogs are welcome anytime! The house's south-facing exposure adds warmth and sunshine to the entire space. Downstairs there is an open floor plan with a kitchen, a full bathroom with a shower, a cozy wood stove and comfy chairs and couches for curling up and relaxing. The kitchen comes complete with everything you need for cooking a romantic dinner for two or putting a big meal together for friends and family. Two of the bedrooms with gorgeous mountains views are upstairs, along with the clawfoot tub for soaking in after a long day. We recently added a window A/C unit to the master bedroom and have plenty of fans for the rest of the house. The third bedroom is conveniently located downstairs and offers privacy through its double french doors. Off the living room there is a small porch, perfect for sunset views. Guest have access to the whole house, including the yard around it and the pond. The pond is great for swimming. We've got a selection of floaties in the barn next to the house as well as fishing rods for catching the bass in the pond. Everyone is welcome to explore the farm and take in the natural beauty of the Vermont maple trees or the plentiful wild apple trees that are sprinkled around the property. Not to mention our herd of Jersey cows, happily grazing in our lush green pastures. There are two fire circles - one near the pond and another closer to the house. There is a grill at the house for summer barbecues. The house sits down the road from the main farmstead. Tyler and Melanie are around most all of the time and happy to provide a farm tour as well as suggestions for scenic, shopping and gastro adventures from Burlington to Montreal or Stowe to the Eastern Townships in Quebec. Nestled in the Green Mountains, the Hideaway House offers close proximity to amazing, local food as well as a variety of outdoor adventures. In the winter coming for skiing at Jay Peak or Smugglers Notch. In the fall come for foliage or Grouse and Woodcock hunting. In the summer come for the lush, green landscape or swimming in the ponds and fresh mountain streams. In all seasons come to explore the fromageries of Sutton, Quebec or hikes up Mount Mansfield. The Hideaway House is easy to find, located just 15 minutes off of exit 19 on I-89. We are only 40 minutes north of Burlington and within an hour or two from lots of interesting day trips like Montreal or the Eastern Townships of Quebec. You will find all the shopping amenities you need within 10-15 minutes in the neighboring towns of Enosburg Falls or St. Albans. Both towns have natural food stores as well as larger grocery stores for stocking up on supplies. We raise our own organic, grass-fed beef on the farm so if you are interested in purchasing any meat during your stay or to take home with you please let us know.
