Oasis Cottage is an authentic self-catering retreat in the peaceful town of Merweville, in the heart of the Great Karoo. The space Oasis Cottage is a welcoming self-catering cottage situated in the peaceful village of Merweville, in the heart of the Great Karoo. This original Karoo home, with its authentic Greek styled atmosphere, offers a comfortable and relaxed retreat - true to its name, a little Oasis in the middle of nowhere. Merweville is a quiet village ideal for guests looking to slow down and reconnect. The town offers a general store for essentials, a butcher well known for quality Karoo lamb for a braai, local restaurants, and a bottle store, all within easy reach. Guests are welcome to use the bicycles available on the property to explore the town, and a unique labyrinth overlooking the village and historic church offers a peaceful space for reflection and sunset views. Oasis Cottage can accommodate up to 5 guests and comprises two bedrooms, one bathroom, a cozy lounge area, and a kitchen with dining space. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed, while the second bedroom contains a double bed and an additional single bed. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, bathtub, toilet, and washbasin. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering and includes a fridge-freezer, gas stove top and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, as well as cutlery and crockery. The dining area (in the kitchen) features a six-seater dining table and chairs. The living area offers comfortable seating and a red piano, adding a creative and homely touch to the space. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. Guests can enjoy several inviting outdoor areas. There is a patio with outdoor dining furniture and a hammock, as well as a built-in braai area and even a pizza oven. The garden offers five outdoor beds beneath the trees, along with outdoor seating and umbrellas; perfect for resting during the day with a cup of tea from our China tea set or enjoying the Karoo’s remarkable star-filled skies at night. Shaded parking is available. Oasis Cottage is located on the same property as Kom Kyk Cottage and Cindy Se Huisie, making it ideal for families or groups who may wish to book together while still enjoying separate private spaces. The property is serviced by Samson, who lives on the property and is available should guests need assistance during their stay. Oasis Cottage is ideal for families seeking an authentic relaxing Karoo atmosphere, with plenty of room to unwind both indoors and under the open skies of the Karoo. Guest access Once you arrive at the gate, please phone Samson and he will open up for you and welcome you in. He will show you around and give you a set of keys for your house and main gate.
