The space Our 30-acre property rests high on the steep Sitting on the Caldera of Mt Warning/Wollumbin, with your cozy little house nestled near the top ridge. Surrounded by native birds and towering trees, The Eagle’s Rest, designed and built by your host Rob, it is a modular structure crafted entirely from trees and timber sourced on the property, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainable living. The house is completely off-grid and operates on solar power (12V and 240V) with a backup generator and charging system for cloudy days. With newly improved access roads, getting here is now simple and stress-free. Your car needs reasonable ground clearance so that you have all-weather access. Once a timber-getting region, this area now flourishes with small-scale farms and dairy enterprises. Gaily, an artist, and I have taken great joy in caring for and improving the land, continuing our role as its environmental custodians. Guest access The cottage is yours alone, set quietly within the natural lines of the land. The bush moves with an easy steadiness — leaves shifting in the breeze, birds calling from just beyond view, subtle signs of life woven through the trees. The upgraded road offers smooth, reliable access; any standard vehicle with reasonable ground clearance will make the trip comfortably, though you’ll want to be a reasonably confident driver on rural roads. Once your booking is confirmed, we will provide you with clear directions to the cabin. Upon your arrival, Rob will greet you, offer a brief welcome, share a few practical details, and guide you to the cabin. The booking is reserved exclusively for registered guests; additional visitors or vehicles require prior approval. Inside, you’ll find a straightforward guide to the space and a QR code for internet access. Still, many guests choose to step away from screens and settle into the quiet — the evening stillness, the early light, and the gentle presence of the bush moving around them.
