Description

The space Located in the municipality of Allande, between the Carondio and El Palo mountain ranges, Monón is a typical village in western Asturias, which belongs to the Navia river basin. The landscape is characterized by a combination of small villages and brañas (pasturelands) scattered along the wooded slopes populated mostly by native vegetation (chestnut, oak, hazel, holly, birch, etc.)It also has a varied fauna, with species such as wild boar, roe deer, fox, hare, partridge, etc. that highlight its importance as a hunting area. You can also practice river fishing in its abundant trout rivers. The Principality of Asturias awarded Casa Corral the 3 Trisqueles (*), which is the highest rating given to rural tourism centers. In addition to the beloved Casa Corral, we have recently opened two fully equipped village houses: Cuartonovo and Corteuveyas, which can be booked complete with a capacity of 8 and 4 people respectively. All the houses are old stone and wood houses superbly rehabilitated so that you can enjoy maximum comfort and the best finishes without giving up the authentic rural style of a typical Asturian village house. They preserve the charm of the traditional housing of the Asturian West. All of them have 2 floors, spacious rooms with bathroom, heating and television in each of them. Living room with library. Large dining room with a fireplace. Panoramic views of the valleys. Porch and terrace. In any of them you can choose the services that best suit your stay: - Accommodation Only - Breakfast, Half Board, Full Board. - Laundry service. - Rural activities. Special prices for companies and groups. The house is open to the public all year round. The client can enjoy, in a pleasant family atmosphere, the unique landscape and traditional cuisine. For all those who wish to somehow find the deepest Asturias... go ahead!Activities Land: Mushroom picking, Mountain biking - MTB, Horseback riding, Gastronomic routes, Hiking - trekking. Water: Fishing. - Possibility of participating in rural tasks.- Hiking and off-road trails.- Walking routes in the vicinity.- Hunting and fishing in season. Places of interest: Hiking Trails (5 km away). The western Asturian region preserves a natural landscape scarcely altered by human action. It is characterized by a combination of small villages and brañas (traditional mountain pastures) scattered throughout the territory, along with deciduous forests on the slopes and large pastures on the gentle peaks of its Paleozoic mountains. The native vegetation still dominates the natural environment of this region. Despite the large felling carried out in previous times, it is still possible to see century-old chestnut trees, large oaks, beeches, hollies and yews, among others, which give it a special uniqueness. Traditional routes (7 km away) In the vicinity of the village we can visit traditional cowboy-type brañas, such as those of Campel and Is. There are also important vestiges of the Roman era, with the Castro de San Chuis and the remains of gold mining. River Routes (10 km away) It also enjoys a varied fauna, with species such as wild boar, roe deer, fox, hare, partridge, etc., which highlight its importance as a hunting area. You can also practice river fishing in its abundant trout rivers, with waterfalls and places where time seems to stand still. Tapias de Casariego (60 km away) Dream beaches designed for rest and enjoyment of nature. It also has the most important surfing beaches on the west coast of Asturias. Leitariegos Ski Resort (75 km away) The Leitariegos Winter Resort is a small resort located northwest of the province of León, more specifically in the region of Laciana (Biosphere Reserve) and on the border with the Principality of Asturias. Its slopes lie on the base of the Cueto de Arbás, the first 2,000 of the Cantabrian Mountains, running from west to east. If the natural environment surrounding the station is exceptional, the varied alternative routes that open up to the visitor multiply on the Leonese and Asturian slopes. Major cities (100 km away) Possible more urban destinations, such as Oviedo, Avilés, Ribadeo or even Lugo. In Monón and its surroundings you can do countless activities, from sports-recreational (hiking, horseback riding...) to cultural (visit our historical heritage, ethnographic museums, gold mining from Roman times...) - Roman Castro of San Chuis - Natural monuments: Alcornocal de Boxo, "Teixo" de Santa Coloma and "Teixo" de Lago.- Ethnographic Museum of Grandas de Salime. Additional information: Casa Corral. In organic agriculture and livestock, the fertility of the land is maintained and increased without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers to avoid deterioration of the environment. Animal welfare is respected, without forcing their natural cycles, and genetic diversity is encouraged by using native breeds of animals and local varieties of crops. Genetically modified organisms (known as GMOs or transgenics) are prohibited in order to avoid the loss of genetic diversity and avoid harmful effects on health and the environment. For all these reasons, at Casa Corral we not only care about offering you the best quality meat, but we also care about it being made in the most environmentally friendly way. And we are involved in the whole process, from the sowing of the forage and the care of the pastures until the meat reaches its destination packaged and labeled. Far from being a return to the past, it is an agricultural production system that looks to the future and bases its practices on the most current technical knowledge of food production and processing, while taking into account traditional practices. The Farm. Regardless of this production with an organic production certificate, Casa Corral has its own traditional farm, from which we obtain excellent raw materials for the preparation of our delicious homemade meals: eggs, chickens, lambs, etc. and some great pigs with which we prepare exquisite sausages. And of course we also have our own garden and fruit trees to complete a healthy and balanced diet. Everything is cared for and prepared with care to offer you the best food. Naturally, if you wish, Casa Corral can also sell you some of these products so that you can take home some of our best flavors, because many of our homemade recipes are "secrets of the cook".
