Cosy 4 star cottage in a lovely village at the foot of the Silvermines Mountains. 2 queen size beds, 2 en-suite shower rooms, best of comforts, & a local pub! Nenagh market town is a 10 minute drive for bars, shops cafés & supermarkets. Dublin, Galway, Cork are a 1.30 hours drive. The space The cottage, Old Forge 1, officially listed by the Irish tourist board as 4 star rated, is set in a courtyard next to the oldest stone house in the village, and on the site of the old forge. On arrival, you will be greeted with a welcome basket of goodies to get you started and your log burner ready to light! There are 2 generous double bedrooms that comfortably sleep 4 in queen size beds. These can be separated to make 4 large single beds. A baby cot and high-chair are available on request. There is a log fire, power showers, 42" Smart TV with cable and Irish channels, DVD player, docking station with radio/ CD player, and free WiFi. High quality kitchen with granite worktop, dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob, GF grill, fridge-freezer. Laundry facilities, comprising of washing machine, tumble dryer, drying racks, and sink. There is a private patio, table and chairs, set in a cottage-style garden with amazing views of the mountain and countryside. All water for your services is via a water harvesting system, saving all of the rainwater to recycle back for use. Silvermines village has a local pub full of charm and character(s). There is a village shop for groceries, artisan breads, and newspapers, etc. For the active, there are many walking and cycling trails, a mountain bike forest, horse riding, golf fishing and water sports, all available within 10 to 30 mins drive away. In the village there is a walking trail with a picnic area, alongside Silvermined stream. There are preserved stone buildings called Cornish steam engine houses, which were used in the 1800s to facilitate the mining of tin & zinc. The lovely Georgian market town of Nenagh, has bars, cafés, boutiques, restaurants and a farmers market. Also, a Norman castle, a heritage and genealogy centre, to help you find your ancestors! All of this is a 10 minute drive away. In the surrounding area, there are many wonderful "way-marked" loop trails for walking and biking. Search Irishtrails ie, location - Tipperary, and look in the Nenagh area. There are other outdoor activities, such as horseriding, a mountain bike forest. The stunning Lough Derg for fishing, sailing and other watersports, golf, tennis, and lots more. The golden sandy beach of Kilkee is a 1.30 hour drive, which also has a dive centre and the best diving in Ireland. Both homes sleep 8/10 in total, making it a great place for larger gatherings, yet having your own space when you need it. Guest access Guests have access to the landscaped garden and patio. Free street parking is always available. The laundry room is shared by both properties. Sorry, no access to the main house. Other things to note There may be other guests staying at the same time in the other accommodation. The Old Forge 1 is a cottage at ground level, with 3 x outside steps. There is a small farm yard next door, and cattle are sometimes kept in the field at the end of the garden, giving a true sense of country living.
