Relax in this calm and unique beach property The space Welcome to our fantastic home in the Stockholm Archipelago. You are only a short ferry ride from the seaport of Vaxholm and the bustling capital yet it feels like you are many miles away. Our family has enjoyed many vacations in this spacious property and we hope you will also have a lovely stay here. For those who are active, there’s plenty of opportunity for rowing, canoeing, paddling, swimming, walking, jogging, playing games like ping pong and darts, and fishing. But if you prefer to rest and relax, there are plenty of lounge chairs and a spacious hammock do so in. You may also enjoy the wood-burning sauna connected to our large dock. if you are here in the summer months, you may also enjoy the bounty of our vegetable garden, and the many fruit bushes on the property. In the fall, feel free to take apples from our orchard. In the winter, light our wood-burning stoves in the main house, and kick back after a walk in the snow with your favorite hot beverage and a good book. It’s very comfy. On the main floor you will find an entrance hall, a half-bathroom, a living room with a wood-burning stove, a dining alcove with a view over the apple orchard and water, and a fully suppled kitchen. Off the kitchen a door leads to a large deck with two comfy armchairs and footstools, a dining table and 8 chairs. There is a retractable roof to shield from sun or rain. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: the ”Nursery,” a spacious room with a wood floor, four ceiling-high closets, and three alcoves with single beds, each with its own curtain for privacy. The second bedroom is the ”Pink room.” It has an amazing view of the cove, a double bed (140 cm) amd a small chest of drawers. On the upstairs landing there is a fourth sleeping alcove and a sofa and footstool, with a view of the cove. Going down the stairs from the kitchen you will find a pantry and a freezer. There is also a large ”mother-in-law” suite with a king size bed (180 cm) and bunk beds. There is a full bathroom with shower, washer and drier, and a kitchenette with a small fridge and a high-top table and four comfortable bar chairs. This makes a nice working space if needed. A door leads to a small deck with a cafe table and two chairs. From there its a few steps into the orchard, the garden, greenhouse, the ”Beach house” (with a full bathroom and kitchenette), BBQ and lounge area, dock and sauna. Next to the house (on the same level as the entry) is the ”Forest house,” which has a double bed (140 cm), a private deck and half-bathroom. Its very cozy! Guest access You will have access to all of the buildings, including a renovated beach house and a wood-burning sauna. You mat use our row boat, kayak and SUP. Bring your own fishing poles! You will find worms in the garden. Other things to note There are no cars or stores on the island. You must take a boat to access the property. The ferry from Vaxholm takes about 15 minutes (1.5 hrs from downtown Stockholm). You can take a bus from Stockholm to Vaxholm and the the feery if you prefer.. There are also private boat taxis we can put you in touch with. You are welcome to use our dock. The water is about 2 meters deep and there is a buoy.
