On the piazza, there is a food shop filled to the brim, a bar also for small appetizers, on Saturday pizza night and on Sunday afternoon and during the summer months a restaurant. On Wednesday morning, a post office is open. Delicious natural spring water can be tapped at the water basin on the piazza, filling bottles provided in the house. In the summer months, there are numerous festivities, for which the village is known. From the village, beautiful walks, old mule paths as a former connecting road between the mountain villages, also more intense mountain walks, the Monte Prato Fiorito lives up to its name, in the spring from May to the end of June the mountain is dotted with a sea of wild flowers, such as the daffodil, the wild orchid, lily, poppy and fragrant herbs. The road up is not difficult and there you will find a spectacular 360° view. On your hiking trails, you will find the woods with ancient monumental chestnut trees from the 15th century; there are some with a trunk circumference of 7 meters. At the highest point of the village, on the rock, Dante keeps watch, he is said to have written his "Inferno" here. Enjoy the silence and a great panoramic view here, on clear days you can see all the way to the sea and Corsica. The beautiful starry sky will take you to higher spheres! The nature reserve "Orrido di Botri", with its beautiful canyon to visit, is close by. There is limited public bus transport to Bagni di Lucca, from where you can take further bus and train connections (Fornoli) to Lucca.
