Great Ocean Rd Cabin Explore, Relax in the Otways

Nestled among native bush and farmland in Yuulong, “The Drift” is a spacious two-bedroom cabin offering the perfect blend of comfort, tranquility, and nature. It’s an ideal base for exploring the Great Ocean Walk, and nearby highlights including Melba Gully—famous for its enchanting glow worms after dark. Relax on the balcony, listen to the birdsong, and let nature unwind you. The space The Drift is one of just two accommodation cabins on our peaceful 16-acre hobby farm. Positioned at the top of the property, the cabin offers privacy, views, and easy access directly from the Great Ocean Road. You’ll likely spot our friendly alpacas and small flock of sheep grazing nearby, adding to the relaxed, farm-style atmosphere. Oh and you may hear a koala or two “grunting” at night, or see wallabies on the hop - this region is home to much native wildlife. Guest access The lawn directly in front of the cabin is all yours to enjoy. And if you’re curious to explore more of the property — perhaps say hello to the animals or wander the bush — we’re happy to show you around. Just say the word. Other things to note EATING OUT AND BASIC SUPPLIES If you are planning to cook during your stay we recommend that you shop before you arrive with supermarkets located some distance away in Colac, Apollo Bay and Port Campbell. Don’t feel like cooking? Want to treat yourself to a great meal? - then consider dining at “The Perch” which is just a 10 minute drive away in Lavers Hill. Looking for a coffee or a snack then head to Yatzies, also in Lavers Hill. COOKING DURING YOUR STAY The cabin has good basic cooking options. There’s a two burner induction hot plate with saucepans/ steamer and frypans. Plus a microwave, rice cooker and Air fryer. Also a medium size fridge/freezer. And on the balcony there is a gas BBQ. Please note - No oven. The cabin is stocked with complimentary milk, tea, coffee pods, salt and pepper and cooking oil. A welcome pack of breakfast cereal is also provided. BEDS & LINEN ARRANGEMENTS The Drift sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms. If you’re booking in as a couple or a solo guest, our default arrangement is to provide linen in the main bedroom (queen size bed) only. Of course, if you’d prefer to sleep in single beds or separate rooms simply let me know prior to your arrival and beds will be made up to suit. MOBILE PHONE/MOBILE DATA /CONNECTIVITY Rest assured that mobile phone reception is generally good and both Telstra and Optus mobile networks are available. Please keep in mind that we do not provide WiFi. SATELLITE TV The cabin has a dish installed specifically for Satellite TV (providing remote locations like ours with free to air channels) FUEL AND CHARGING STATIONS Not many options locally (and definitely no diesel fuel) so please plan ahead and fuel up in locations such as Colac, Apollo Bay, Port Campbell and Timboon. NO PETS - Just a friendly reminder- sorry no pets. Unfortunately our property cannot accommodate visiting furry friends. (However you’re most welcome to meet our two rather adorable “resident working dogs” Charley and Oscar)
