Hazelwood is a lovingly-restored 57ft narrowboat moored in a private marina on the historic Grand Union Canal near Hanwell, West London. Just 2 stops from Heathrow Airport and 2 stops from Paddington on the Elizabeth Line, she’s a cosy escape nestled in nature you can retreat to after a day exploring our vibrant city. My home for nearly five years, Hazelwood offers a unique opportunity to experience boat life while being equipped with plenty of creature comforts to offer you a comfortable stay The space Hazelwood features one double bedroom, a bathroom, study, full kitchen, dining area and spacious living room. She’s thoughtfully decorated with reclaimed materials and vintage furnishings, while being powered by renewable energy. Make yourself comfortable in the living room, putting your feet up on the sofa or curling up with a book in the reading corner. Watch the sun stream in during summer or snuggle up with the heater on in winter. The kitchen features an oven, hob, kettle, fridge (with small freezer compartment), sink, limitless fresh drinking water and instant hot water. Help yourself to anything on the counters and in the cupboards. Stay fresh with a full size shower with instant hot water, bathroom sink and flushing toilet. Make use of the washing machine if you need. Working while away? Hazelwood is powered by rooftop solar panels and mains electricity, giving you plenty of power to charge your devices. Get connected with onboard WiFi and a Bose Bluetooth speaker. Outdoors, help yourself to the strawberries, tomatoes, herbs and spices growing in our rooftop garden. Keep an eye out for the butterflies, ducks, fish and other Great British wildlife! Guest access Hazelwood is permanently moored inside a private gated marina, a short walk from Southall Elizabeth Line station. Free on-street parking is available next to the marina entrance. You are welcome to use any part of Hazelwood and her mooring/garden, other than the roof or gunwales (side ledges). Other things to note Hazelwood has an onboard cassette toilet, which typically fills up in about 3 days. Once full, you will need to swap it for a fresh one provided. A shore toilet is also available. Being a unique narrowboat, some facilities are smaller and more delicate than you might be used to. I’m happy to answer any questions you have to ensure a comfortable stay. I’m afraid Hazelwood is not wheelchair accessible.
