Charming Cottage with Sea Views

Perched high on the cliffs with spectacular uninterrupted sea views, this charming cottage on the north Cornish coast is a peaceful hideaway. Set in the picturesque hamlet of St Gennys, which is above Crackington Haven and its gorgeous beach. The cottage and private garden is available year round. Dog friendly (1 large dog or upto 2 medium sized), it sleeps four. It is a stone’s throw from Cornwall’s world famous Coast Path. Perfect cozy base to explore the beauty of north Cornwall. The space Step inside and you'll receive a warm welcome, where open-plan living makes the most of the wonderful views, and means you can spend time together, whether you're cooking, eating, or simply sat relaxing and gazing out of the windows. There are two bedrooms, one King with an en suite and the other Double with a separate bathroom, To the front, the lovely enclosed garden with even more spectacular views is the real jewel of this cottage, it has ample seating and a secure space for dogs means you can truly relax and make the most of this most Cornish of cottages. Set on the north coast close to Crackington Haven, there's a host of things to see and do in the area, from Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow to the west and Widemouth Bay, Bude and the Hartland Heritage Coast to the east. Head inland and you have both moors - Bodmin and Dartmoor - for wild, spectacular walks. LIVING AND EATING The living space is open plan with the kitchen and dining area to one side and the sitting area to the other. With vaulted ceiling, gorgeous stone floor and incredible sea views. At the far end you'll find the cosy wood burner, set back snugly into the wall. There's a sofa and two armchairs to sit back in, and a pouffe to rest weary legs. In addition, there's a Smart TV and a DAB radio. At the other end of the room, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need, with an electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and washer-dryer. Between the two lies the dining table that easily seats four, set close to the windows to make the most of the views. SLEEPING AND BATHING Menaring Cottage has two pretty bedrooms to choose from. The master bedroom has a bed knobs-and-broomsticks king-sized bed, with wardrobe and shelving. There is a pretty marble sink in the bedroom, as well as a shower. The second bedroom with sea views has a double bed and a wardrobe and shelving to tuck your things away in. This has use of the family bathroom next door, which has a bath for long soaks (perfect after a long walk along the cliff tops) with overhead shower, plus heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy. Both beds have gorgeously soft linens, bedding, throws and cushions to ensure a deep, blissful nights' sleep. PARKING There is private parking for one car, with additional on road parking available nearby. Menaring Cottage welcomes babies and children. Please bring your own baby equipment with you. IN THE AREA Whether you're a country lover or a fan of the sea or want a bit of both, you'll be spoilt for choice at Menaring Cottage. Just a few steps from the South West Coastal Path, a brief walk will take you to the top of Penkenna Point for astonishing views, from where you can also walk down to Combe Barton Inn in Crackington Haven for a well-earned drink or a bite to eat. From the cottage you can also walk to Thorn's Beach and Dizzard Wood, whilst if you pop in the car a short drive will take you to stunning Strangles Beach and its Northern Door, a huge stone arch. For sea lovers, there's an abundance of other beaches nearby for windswept walks during winter or long sunny days swimming; Bude, Widemouth Bay, Sandymouth, Bossiney Haven, Trebarwith Strand and Polzeath are well worth a visit. Bude also has a fantastic open air swimming pool, whilst a plethora of other watersports are readily available too from surfing and stand up paddle boarding to coasteering and sea kayaking. Head inland and across the border into Devon to explore wild, untamed Dartmoor or stick to Cornwall and pay a visit to the Tamar Valley and Bodmin Moor - all incredibly awe-inspiring. History lovers will adore Tintagel, whilst quirky Boscastle and its lovely farm shop are worth a visit. Further along, Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame and the home of The Fishermen's Friends) is a must-see and it's also home to two Nathan Outlaw restaurants. Further along you'll find the Camel Estuary and Padstow, great for foodies!
