This thoughtfully built three-bedroom home sits on rewilded land near Fort William, just minutes from Glenfinnan, Ben Nevis, and lochs in every direction. We’ve built it from the ground up with future-living in mind — not just to reduce harm, but to actively help regenerate. 🌞 Energy & Warmth • Powered by 12 solar panels with a large home battery, storing clean energy throughout the day. • Heated via an air source heat pump connected to underfloor heating and ultra-efficient radiators. • Fitted with triple-glazed windows, double insulation (rigid board and sheep wool), and an MVHR system (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) for constant fresh, filtered air and stable indoor temperatures — all year round. 💧 Water & Air • Pure spring water runs through the taps and showers — no chlorine, no chemicals, just naturally filtered Highland water straight from the hill. • Our heat recovery and air purification system means the air inside is fresh and dry — even in the depths of winter. 🌱 Materials & Interiors • Every surface has been chosen with care: reclaimed timber, low-VOC natural paints, and cork underlay beneath our oak flooring. 🔌 Tech & Transport • You’ll have access to EV chargers powered by green energy (we’re with Octopus and Ecotricity, two of the UK’s most ethical providers). • We avoid gas entirely — the home is all-electric, low-impact, and future-ready. 🛏️ Layout & Living • Two peaceful bedrooms with cosy bedding made from 100% cotton. • Open-plan kitchen and living area with panoramic views of nature, designed for relaxation, connection, and reflection. • Suitable to those seeking peace, creativity, or just a deep exhale from everyday life. 🌿 Outside • Our one-acre plot is gradually rewilding — long grasses, native trees, birdsong, and the occasional deer at your window. • Space to sit, think, write, draw, read. Fort William and its surrounding areas are a hiker’s paradise with a range of trails for all levels. Here are a few hiking recommendations: * Ben Nevis – The classic and most famous hike in the area, the summit of Ben Nevis offers stunning views if you’re up for the challenge. It’s a steep and long hike, so make sure you’re prepared! * Nevis Gorge – A shorter but beautiful hike through the gorge with views of waterfalls and lush scenery. It’s a lovely option if you’re not ready for the full Ben Nevis summit. * Glen Nevis – This stunning valley offers multiple walking trails, including the lower and upper parts of Glen Nevis, with easy to moderate hikes offering breathtaking views. * The West Highland Way – If you’re looking for something longer, part of this famous trail passes through Fort William. The full trail stretches 96 miles from Milngavie to Fort William, but you can enjoy shorter sections around the area. * Steall Waterfall – A fantastic, shorter hike that leads to the impressive Steall Waterfall. It’s an easier hike with great views and a lovely spot to enjoy a peaceful moment. * Pap of Glencoe – A rewarding but moderate hike offering panoramic views of Glencoe and Loch Leven. The summit gives you fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. * Parallel Roads of Glen Roy - is a short but rough walk, it has excellent views of the famous Parallel Roads which stand out as horizontal ridges on both sides of the Glen. There is not a path for the whole route so navigation skills are required for that trail. * Sgorr Dhearg and Sgorr Dubh – These two peaks are great for experienced hikers, offering wonderful views of the surrounding area, including Loch Leven. Each of these hikes will provide you with an unforgettable experience in the Scottish Highlands! Make sure to check the weather before heading out, as conditions can change quickly in the mountains. For local pubs and restaurants, here are a few of our favourites: • The Ben Nevis Inn: A cozy spot at the foot of Ben Nevis, perfect for hearty meals after a day of exploring. • The Ben Nevis Bar: Located on Fort William High Street, this pub is great for classic pub food and offers a lovely view of Loch Linnhe. (Get a seat by the big picture window if you can) • Whispering Pines Hotel: Just a few minutes’ drive from our accommodation , this charming spot offers excellent food with beautiful loch views of our nearest loch, Loch Lochy. For breakfast or coffee, here are some great spots we’d recommend: - The Bridge Café (Spean Bridge 5min) : A cozy spot with great coffee and homemade treats. - Whispering Pines (Spean Bridge 5min) – A beautiful lakeside setting with delicious breakfast options. - The Pine Marten Café (Nevis Range 8min) – Perfect if you’re heading towards the mountains, with great views and a relaxed atmosphere. - The Wildcat (Fort William High Street 15min) – 100% plant-based café that uses delicious local produce. - - - - - Your Hosts We, Kiran and Jas, are passionate about providing a warm and welcoming stay that connects guests to the beauty of The Highlands.
