Homestay "Le champ des Lucioles"

Our charming suite is located in a rural setting of the Lot Valley, 2 minutes from one of the most beautiful villages in France, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and 35 minutes from Cahors. It is carefully furnished for your comfort. You will appreciate the calm of its outdoor spaces surrounded by greenery. Optionally, you can enjoy a heated Nordic bath for evenings contemplating the Milky Way. Rivers, heritage, leisure, terroir and sports, everything for a pleasant stay in the Lot! The space In 2024, our family moved to the Lot department, in the heart of the Causses du Quercy Regional Park. Department that we loved to visit during our vacation. We fell in love with this property of two houses from the early 19th century overlooking a plot of more than one hectare, the half landscaped with an orchard and the other wooded. We created in the largest house, a bed and breakfast "Le champ des lucioles". In the second house, we will open a cottage for 6 to 8 people in the spring. We love nature, wildlife and it was important for us to be part of an approach of respect and preservation of our environment with ecological actions, such as recycling of materials, second hand, flea markets, garage sales, local and seasonal organic food, the use of natural and healthy cosmetics and hygiene etc... We have created a 200 m2 vegetable garden in permaculture with composting, insect hotels, nest boxes etc... We limit the consumption of resources and seek to constantly improve ourselves. Our room can accommodate two people in a very comfortable bed of 160x200cm but it is also possible to come with children. We have, at extra cost, a comfortable 80x200cm slatted bed base. We have a crib with a good mattress for the little ones. Just specify this in the reservation. Up to 3 years the bed is free, after 3 years we ask you for a surcharge of 15 euros per night per child. For adults who do not want to sleep in the same bed, it is possible to install the bed of 80x200cm for an additional 15euros. A hearty breakfast is available at an extra cost of €13 per person. Sweet breakfast: Pastries, organic homemade pastry (local spelt flour, local eggs), organic cow or vegetable milk, bread, organic jams, local organic honey, organic juice, organic tea, espresso coffee, organic chocolate, organic sheep yogurt, organic seasonal fresh fruit. Saved/sweet breakfast: organic homemade pastry, bread, organic jams, organic local honey, local charcuterie, local cheeses, egg, juice, espresso coffee, organic tea, vegetable milk or organic cow. Sheets, towels, hygiene products are available free of charge. Cleaning is included in the rate. You have a vacuum cleaner and hygiene supplies for the suite if needed. The room has its own entrance in front of which you can park to drop off your luggage. The parking is shaded by a large walnut tree. The suite covers two levels. A large entrance opens to a space that includes a reading nook, storage including a refrigerator, microwave, and dishware. Next comes a large bathroom with a large walk-in shower and an independent toilet. A wide staircase goes upstairs where the 18m2 air-conditioned room equipped with its queen size bed (160x200), the herbal tea area (tea, herbal tea, soluble coffee, concentrated milk, sugar), a desk, a TV (free netflix and bonus) and an independent toilet with hand wash. Three windows illuminate the bedroom and offer views of the garden and a glimpse of the rock of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. You'll have fiber and 5G for free. It is also possible to use our washing machine for free. Outside, in front of the entrance, a flowered pergola will welcome you for your summer breakfasts. We can also set you up wherever you like in the garden. In winter, or in rainy weather, breakfasts are taken in the room. The entire garden and its relaxation facilities are at your disposal. 50 meters away, not overlooked, with a view of nature, is the private pool. You have access to it all day. Bath sheets are available in your room as well as flip-flops. At the end of the garden, quiet, surrounded by greenery and without light pollution, is nestled our Nordic bath and its terrace. The bath is the largest existing format at our supplier and has a capacity of 8 people. For an additional 50 euros, you can enjoy an immersive experience under the stars and observe the Milky Way. It is possible to book us cold meal tray (seasonal organic local products, and, depending on production, organic garden vegetables) and/or drinks. We will heat the hot tub to around 40° using the wood-burning stove and will optimize the facilities for your comfort. The bath is cleaned, disinfected, and water is changed to every new guest. We recycle it for watering our orchard. The bathtub must be reserved before your arrival, as it takes about 5 hours to bring it to the right temperature. You have robes, bath linens, and flip-flops to get there. Then you'll just have to take a lantern on the deck and follow the path lit by the small solar lamps. You can enjoy the garden to relax in the hammocks, the swings or do sports activities available: pétanque, archery, badminton, volleyballs and football... do not hesitate to ask us for hiking equipment. We have a backpack door/baby. There is a small play area for small pieces(slide, cabin, climbing wall...). We also have all the accessories for the little ones: changing table, high chair, games, carrier, bike, draisienne... Everything is available for free. From the house, beautiful hikes will make you discover the Lot Valley, the Causse du Quercy and why not join the paths to Compostela. Very recently, a greenway was opened between Bousiés and Calvignac. You can hire electric bikes at the foot of our village and ride along the Lot for a bucolic ride during which you can see the pretty villages and castles by the river. We are between the rivers of Lot and Célé, ideal for swimming, water activities, canoeing, fishing... There are many climbing sites nearby (topo available) via-ferrata, mountain biking trails from the house and caving sites. You can discover an exceptional natural and cultural heritage: the typical villages of the quercy (Saint-Cirq-lapopie 5 minutes away or Rocamadour at 1 hour), the prehistoric caves (Pech-Merle 10 minutes away), the chasms ( Padirac 1 hour away), the castles ( Cénevières 10 minutes away), the Lotois vineyards to taste the appellations Cahors et Côtes du Lot (Château Lamagdelaine, Domaine Dols). Finally, you can discover the flavors and specialties of the Lot in the beautiful markets nearby or directly from the producers. Guest access Take exit A20 at Cahors then the departmental D662 which runs along the Lot towards Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Our accommodation is at the entrance to the village of Tour-de-Faure before the center, at 1022 rue du mas. You can head to the spa hotel "Le Saint-Cirq" which is 500 meters away and is indicated by signs. If you come from Saint-Cirq-Lapopie or Figeac, Cajarc, you must take the direction Cahors, our accommodation is located at the exit of the village, after the spa hotel Le Saint-Cirq. During your stay We are available by messaging, email and phone. Other things to note Children can be accommodated. We have a travel cot with a comfort mattress and a 1 meter x 180 cm sofa bed for a child. The beds will be set up in the bedroom but will reduce the space. For small children we are not able to put a gate in the stairs. We offer as an option, a babysitting service with artistic workshops and "small naturalists" or "Small artists" workshops.
