Homestay "Le champ des Lucioles"

Our charming suite is located in a rural setting of the Lot Valley, 2 minutes from one of the most beautiful villages in France, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and 35 minutes from Cahors. It is carefully furnished for your comfort. You will appreciate the calm of its outdoor spaces surrounded by greenery. Optionally, you can enjoy a heated Nordic bath for evenings contemplating the Milky Way. Rivers, heritage, leisure, terroir and sports, everything for a pleasant stay in the Lot! The space In 2024, we moved as a family to the Lot, in the heart of the Causses du Quercy Regional Park. It's a department we loved to visit during our vacations. We fell in love with this property consisting of two early 19th-century houses overlooking grounds of more than one hectare, half of which are landscaped with an orchard and the other half wooded. In the larger house, we have created a bed and breakfast called "Le champ des lucioles" (The Field of Fireflies). In the second house, we will open a cottage for 6–8 people in the spring. We love nature and wildlife, and it was important for us to adopt an approach of respect for and conservation of our environment through eco-friendly practices, such as recycling materials, second-hand items, flea markets, yard sales, local and seasonal organic food, the use of natural and healthy cosmetics and hygiene products, etc. We have created a 200 m² permaculture vegetable garden with composting, insect hotels, birdhouses, etc. We limit our consumption of resources and strive to constantly improve. Our room can accommodate two people in a very comfortable 160x200 cm bed, but it is also possible to come with children. We also have a comfortable 100x190 cm sofa bed for children over 3 years old. We have a baby bed with a good mattress for little ones. Simply specify this in the booking. The bed is free for children up to 3 years old. For children over 3 years old, we ask for an extra charge of €15 per night per child. For adults who do not want to sleep in the same bed, it is possible to set up the 80x200 cm bed for an additional €15. The hearty breakfast is available as an extra for €13 per person. All-sweet breakfast: pastries, homemade organic baked goods (local spelt flour, local eggs), organic cow's milk or plant-based milk, bread, organic jams, local organic honey, organic juice, organic tea, espresso, organic hot chocolate, organic sheep's milk yogurt, fresh organic seasonal fruit. Savory/sweet breakfast: organic homemade pastries, bread, organic jams, local organic honey, local charcuterie, local cheeses, egg, juice, espresso coffee, organic tea, plant-based milk or organic cow's milk. Sheets, towels and toiletries are provided free of charge. Cleaning is included in the rate. You have a vacuum cleaner and the cleaning supplies needed for the suite if necessary. The room has its own private entrance, in front of which you can park to drop off your luggage. The parking area is shaded by a large walnut tree. The suite is spread over two levels. A large entrance opens onto an area including a reading corner and a storage area with a fridge, microwave and dishes. Next is a large bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a separate toilet. A wide staircase leads upstairs to the 18 m² air-conditioned bedroom, which is equipped with a queen size bed (160 x 200 cm), a tea and coffee making area (tea, herbal tea, instant coffee, condensed milk, sugar), a desk, a TV (free Netflix and Prime), and a separate toilet with a washbasin. Three windows brighten the bedroom and offer views of the garden and a glimpse of the Saint-Cirq-Lapopie cliff. Guests have free access to fiber-optic internet and 5G. You can also use our washing machine free of charge. Outside, in front of the entrance, a flower-covered pergola will welcome you for your summer breakfasts. We can also set you up wherever you like in the garden. In winter, or on rainy days, breakfasts are served in the room. The entire garden and its relaxation facilities are at your disposal. 50 meters away, not overlooked, with views of nature, is the private pool. You have access to it all day long. Bath sheets and flip-flops are available in your room. At the end of the garden, in a quiet location, surrounded by greenery and without light pollution, you'll find our Nordic bath and its terrace. The hot tub is the largest size available from our supplier and has a capacity of 8 people. For an additional 50 euros, you can enjoy an immersive experience under the stars and observe the Milky Way. It is possible to order a cold meal platter (local, organic, seasonal produce and, depending on availability, vegetables from the organic garden) and/or drinks from us. We will heat the hot tub to about 40°C with the wood-burning stove and optimize the facilities for your comfort. The hot tub is cleaned, disinfected, and the water is changed for each new guest. We recycle it to water our orchard. The bath must be booked before your arrival, as it takes about 5 hours to get it to the right temperature. Bathrobes, bath towels and flip-flops are provided for you to use to get there. You will then simply need to take a lantern from the terrace and follow the path lit by the small solar lights. You can enjoy the garden to relax in the hammocks or on the swings, or to take part in the sports activities available: pétanque, archery, badminton, volleyball and soccer balls, etc. Don't hesitate to contact us for hiking gear. We have a baby carrier backpack. There is a small playground for little ones (slide, playhouse, climbing wall...). We also have all the accessories for toddlers: changing table, highchair, toys, ride-on toy, bike, balance bike, etc. Everything is provided at no extra charge. From the house, beautiful hikes will let you discover the Lot valley and the Quercy causse, and why not join the Chemin de Compostelle? Very recently, a greenway opened between Bousiés and Calvignac. You can hire electric bikes at the edge of our village and follow the Lot for a bucolic ride during which you can see the pretty villages and chateaux along the river. We are between the Lot and Célé rivers, ideal for swimming, water sports, canoeing, fishing... Nearby, there are many climbing sites (guidebook available), via ferratas, mountain bike trails starting from the house, and caving sites. You can discover an exceptional natural and cultural heritage: typical Quercy villages (Saint-Cirq-Lapopie 5 minutes away or Rocamadour 1 hour away), prehistoric caves (Pech-Merle 10 minutes away), chasms (Padirac 1 hour away), castles (Cénevières 10 minutes away), and Lot vineyards to taste the Cahors and Côtes du Lot appellations (Château Lamagdelaine, Domaine Dols). Finally, you can discover the flavors and specialties of the Lot at the beautiful markets nearby or directly from the producers. Guest access Take exit A20 at Cahors then the departmental D662 which runs along the Lot towards Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Our accommodation is at the entrance to the village of Tour-de-Faure before the center, at 1022 rue du mas. You can head to the spa hotel "Le Saint-Cirq" which is 500 meters away and is indicated by signs. If you come from Saint-Cirq-Lapopie or Figeac, Cajarc, you must take the direction Cahors, our accommodation is located at the exit of the village, after the spa hotel Le Saint-Cirq. During your stay We are available by messaging, email and phone. Other things to note We offer our accommodation as private individuals. We do not have business status and we cannot issue invoices. We don't have a credit card payment system. For surcharges, you can pay by bank transfer, by wero or in cash. For our foreign guests, we do not accept bank transfers that incur additional charges. It is possible to accommodate children. We have a travel cot with a comfortable mattress and a sofa bed measuring 1 meter x 180 cm for a child. The beds will be set up in the bedroom but will reduce the space. For young children, we are not able to install a safety gate on the stairs. We offer an optional babysitting service for all ages, with "Little Naturalists" or "Little Artists" workshops for children aged 3 and up.
