Jewel Cottage, cosy 2 bedroom holiday cottage

Beautiful and historic cottage built in 1742 has bags of cosy character plus all modern conveniences, including wifi, log burner, central heating, smart TV, two bedrooms with super king size beds, a garden and patio. Perfect for visiting Matlock and the Peak District, with Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, and the glorious surrounding countryside. The space The cottage is located on Smedley Street East, and points away from the road for privacy with a small garden in front. The entrance is up the narrow drive where there’s a single parking space. It’s narrow so drivers of larger cars will prefer to park on the street (restricted 9am to 5pm on weekdays) or on Henry Avenue (unrestricted at all times). From the drive there are a couple of steps into the garden and a single step up to the front door. The front door opens to the lounge with the kitchen down a step behind. There are two sets of steep stairs from the lounge, one leading down to the second bedroom with super king sized bed and another leading up to the main bedroom, again with super king bed, with a single step down to the bathroom next to the main bedroom. Due to the steep stairs, bedrooms on different levels and extra steps between rooms this property is not suitable for young children or people with mobility issues. Guests also need to be aware that whilst the cottage is well located to walk into Matlock, Bank Road is steep and again not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Guest access The cottage is all yours, with lounge, kitchen, two double bedrooms and bathroom. Other things to note House Rules: We have a no noise after 11.30pm policy, and a strict no party policy. The cottage should be left clean and tidy before your departure. This is an old property on 3 floors with 2 sets of steep stairs and isn’t suitable for young children or anyone with mobility issues. Unfortunately we cannot host children under 12 or accept pets.
