Minfot is a fully restored traditional Cretan home that blends authentic architecture with modern comforts. The property offers shared access to common areas and is fully equipped to accommodate up to 5 guests. Enjoy high-quality sleep with premium mattresses and bedding, and take in the breathtaking view of Messara Plain — the high mountains, the olive tries — as well as the charming village of Sivas. The space MINFOT LOCAL HOUSE is located in the traditional village of Sivas, in the municipality of Phaistos, in Crete. It is an independent traditional house with a courtyard, which has all the local elements of the houses of Sivas. An old mansion, with a history of at least two centuries! This house has been saved from the ravages of time and renovated with love and respect, so that it is now completely functional. At the same time, both its external and internal design are in the same style, preserving its original appearance. Stone, wood, old furniture, and elements shape spaces with their obvious history and are typical examples of traditional not only architecture but also interior design - decoration. All of the above were combined with modern interventions to offer comfort and a pleasant stay to each visitor. Our house is located in a quiet neighborhood, on the upper side of the village, with a panoramic view of Siva, Asterousia, and, in the distance to the west, you can see the sea and enjoy the sunset. A house ideal for absolute relaxation and comfort, suitable for families, couples, and friends who wish to stay in a hospitable environment and discover the beauties of Crete. MINFOT LOCAL HOUSE will be your holiday paradise. You will enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area, and you will easily visit all the attractions that are very close. The Minoan palace of Phaistos and Agia Triada, Kommos, the port of Phaistos, the Roman city of Gortyna, and the historic monastery of Panagia Hodigitria. You will cool off on the beaches of Matala, Kommos, and Kalamaki. A little further away, you will enjoy your swim in Kali Limenes, Agiofarago, Vathy. ​Walk through the narrow alleys of the village and admire the old houses and monuments, which have been preserved over the centuries. In the beautiful village square, you will see the very old church of Agios Ioannis and the old school of the village. Everything you need is next to you: traditional taverns and cafes, grocery stores (mini markets). Sit down to drink your coffee or raki, try the flavors of Cretan cuisine, and enjoy the company of the residents of the village. ​MINFOT LOCAL HOUSE can accommodate up to 5 people, with modern amenities. On the first level are the fully equipped kitchen, with dining area and fireplace. The living room with a 50’ Google TV & free internet, the central dining room, and a large bathroom. Also, a comfortable sofa with single bed dimensions. On the sofa in the living room, our sixth guest can have a comfortable sleep. Three steps lead to the second level with 2 bedrooms, with air conditioning, Google TV, and free wifi. In the first bedroom, with a king-size bed and a private, comfortable bathroom. In the second bedroom, with a very large double bed or two singles, and also a private bathroom. On this level, there is a work area and the laundry area with a wardrobe. From the balcony doors of the bedrooms, you go out to a closed inner courtyard. The perfect place of isolation and tranquility, to enjoy your coffee and drink, or read a book. The house is equipped with various board games for young and old and with painting materials for young children. A special feature of the house is its large yard, where each visitor can enjoy the coolness of a huge tree in the shade of which there is a dining area or relax in the comfortable garden seating area. This yard also offers the possibility of comfortable private parking. Visitors can have access to all the interior and exterior areas of the house, except for the attic (1st floor), which communicates with the rest of the house with an internal wooden staircase. This area has not yet been renovated and is not available for use by our guests. Sivas is a traditional village with a great history and heritage. It is 62 km from Heraklion and is located in southern Crete on the western slope of the Asterousia mountain range, a stone's throw from wonderful beaches. Visitors can discover the traces of the history of the place over the years, taking tours of the surrounding area and within the village. ​ Sivas is also the ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts, for their daily getaways, with hiking trails and remote beaches. Guest access You’ll have full access to all indoor and outdoor areas of the property – they’re exclusively yours to enjoy during your stay. For parking, there is a private parking space available right beside the house.
