Come and slow down in our cosy, upcycled cottage in peaceful Fontaine-l’Étalon. A relaxed, rustic escape with 2 comfy bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, big sofas, Smart TV, Wi-Fi and your own private fenced garden — dogs very welcome! Enjoy countryside walks, lazy mornings and quiet evenings. Optional massage and breathwork sessions are available too. The space Cosy Cottage at Rustic Escapes is a well-loved, upcycled country home full of rustic charm and “perfectly imperfect” character. Set in the peaceful village of Fontaine-l’Étalon, around 70 minutes from Calais, it’s somewhere to slow down, get comfortable and enjoy a few days of simple country living. Sleeping up to 5 guests across two bedrooms and the cosy living space, the cottage works beautifully for couples, friends, families and solo guests looking for a peaceful escape — four-legged companions are very welcome too. Inside, you'll find a fully equipped country kitchen with everything you need for simple breakfasts and relaxed family dinners (it's not a chef's palace!). There are two bathrooms, Wi-Fi and all the everyday essentials you need for a comfortable stay. The warm, cosy living room has two big sofas, a Smart TV, books and games — perfect for putting your feet up, curling up with a book or settling in for a lazy evening. Outside, you'll have your own private fenced garden. Enjoy your morning coffee outside, let the dogs potter around, read in the sunshine or sit out under the stars with a glass of something nice. You don't need to come here with a list of things to do. Take a countryside walk, have a slow breakfast, read, cook, sleep late or simply enjoy doing very little. If you'd like an extra bit of time for yourself, optional on-site wellbeing treatments, including massage and breathwork sessions, may also be available by prior arrangement. This isn't a pristine modern or luxury property. Expect rustic features, upcycled pieces, a few quirks and the occasional creak. Everything works, and it's all part of the relaxed, homely character of an old country cottage. Easy self check-in means you can arrive and settle in at your own pace.
