Cozy log burner studio | South Lakes & Arnside

Cosy up by the log burner after a day exploring the Lakes. This modern studio apartment sits within a beautifully converted historic barn in a peaceful rural setting, yet is only a 20-minute walk from the pubs of Milnthorpe. Enjoy a great night’s sleep on the Hypnos mattress, relax on the comfy sofa, and prepare simple meals in the kitchenette. Logs are included. With walks from the door and easy access to the Lake District and Arnside, it’s the perfect base for a relaxing South Cumbria escape. The space The Shippon is a studio flat. The external door opens into the galley kitchenette. This in turn opens out into an open plan living and sleeping area. Finally adjacent to the bed is access to an en-suite shower room which has a sink, toilet and powerful cubicle shower. Kitchenette The kitchenette is equipped with everything you need to make simple meals. There is a sink, dishwasher and fridge with small freezer compartment. There are two plug-in countertop hobs, a two drawer Ninja air fryer, a kettle and a toaster. There is a selection of pots, pans, cutlery, plates, bowls and utensils that would you expect to find in a small kitchen. Sitting room area We provide a modern three seater King sofa, facing a cozy log burner, for which a supply of logs and kindling is provided. There is a wall-mounted adjustable smart television. Sleeping area The bed is a superking with a Hypnos mattress. There is a double built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage. Each side of the bed has its own reading light, USB plug socket and a small bedside table. Shower room Fully lockable, with toilet, heated towel rail, sink, back-lit mirror and cubicle shower. Shampoo and shower gel provided. Heating Provided from an air source heat pump via underfloor heating, supplemented by the log burner. There is a thermostat in the room which you are able to adjust. Parking There is a single parking space next to the entrance to the Shippon. If think you might need to bring a second vehicle let us know and we will see what we can do. To note The Shippon is a fully self-contained apartment with its own external access. However it is joined to the main house (where we live) by a lockable door. This will be kept locked for the duration of your stay. Guest access The flat and the area to the side of the car park. Other things to note We are passionate about the local area.
