Part of a beautifully converted farm, “Poggio Verde”, set amongst the hills that surround Lake Trasimeno, this ground-floor apartment is a little piece of heaven on earth! One of 8 apartments in this agriturismo, each has its own private entrance and each is carefully furnished. The apartment, which sleeps 4 people, consists of an open-plan living area, with a double-height ceiling. The living room has a sofa, coffee table and dining table. Location The apartment is in the ideal location for guests to explore the gems of Umbria. The town of Castiglione del Lago (10 minutes), with its medieval castle, that dominates the shore, offers wonderful views over the beautiful Lake Trasimeno. On the water, guests can enjoy many different watersports, including canoeing and swimming. Away from the lake, visitors can cycle or hike along one of the many tracks that crisscross the stunning countryside. The capital of Umbria, Perugia is 45 minutes away. It is well worth a visit, as is the famous town of Assisi (1 hour) birthplace of St Francis and a site of pilgrimage. Over the border in Tuscany, Montepulciano (40 minutes) makes an interesting day trip. Here you can visit many different wine producers and try some of the famous red wines and buy some to enjoy at home.
