Our lovingly and biologically renovated half-timbered house on the outskirts of Unna-Uelzen is a special retreat for those who appreciate the real thing. Historical charm, natural materials and a deliberately simple interior create a healthy, cozy living feeling – without any frills, but with a lot of character. As a real, old half-timbered house, the building tells its story: walls are not always completely straight, the original floorboards may creak and instead of artificial scents, an earthy, natural house smell can be perceived. If you expect perfect angles, a sterile hotel atmosphere or ironed bed linen, you will probably not feel comfortable here. However, it is precisely this originality that makes the house so special. The house is functional and cozy and offers space to arrive and breathe. The layout on the ground floor consists of a dining room and an open bedroom, which is integrated into a combined living and sleeping area. The sleeping options have recently been expanded – a new, very comfortable double bed now ensures a good night's sleep. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need – consciously reduced and suitable for everyday use. When it comes to furnishings, we attach great importance to sustainability and health: We do not use fabric softener and clean predominantly with organic cleaning agents in order to maintain the most natural indoor climate possible. A special highlight is the quiet garden, which invites you to relax in the greenery – whether in the morning with a cup of coffee, in the evening with a glass of wine or simply to switch off from everyday life. The location combines tranquility with good accessibility: nature, city center, old town and shopping are within easy reach. Restaurants as well as train and highway connections are nearby. The half-timbered house is an ideal starting point for walks, bike tours and excursions to the Ruhr area or the nearby Sauerland. As a host, I am especially happy to welcome people who love to travel as much as I do. It is a matter of the heart to offer guests a comfortable place to stay in my hometown of Unna and to provide them with a pleasant starting point to discover the region, to relax and to feel at home. Unna offers a historic old town, the internationally renowned Center for International Light Art, as well as parks and green spaces. Nearby are Haus Opherdicke, the Ruhrauen near Fröndenberg and the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path. Dortmund is about 20 km away. The Sauerland with Möhnesee, Arnsberger Wald as well as Winterberg and Willingen is ideal for nature and active vacations. Other: Sustainable cleaning – for the sake of the environment As with the selection of our building materials, we also pay attention to environmental compatibility when it comes to cleaning products and avoid strong chemicals as much as possible. We also focus on sustainability when it comes to laundry: our bed linen and towels are washed without fabric softener and strongly perfumed detergents. Therefore, they may not feel quite as soft as you are used to from home – but they are particularly skin-friendly and environmentally friendly.
