Nature Escape at Crows Cottage
Nature Escape at Crows Cottage
Description
Nestled away in the bush along a dirt road the Crows Cottage Studio, the front sectioned off part of the off-grid house, is a great place to escape and unwind. Surrounded by trees and wildlife the studio makes a great getaway for 1 to 4 people. Located about 10 minutes from Crows Nest town and less than 6km to the Crows Nest National Park, it's easy to explore the region. After exploring and bush walking, both on property and in the area, relax with a well earnt glass of wine by the fire. The space Everything about this little studio (approx 40m2 of space) has been lovingly created with you in mind. Enjoy the peaceful solitude and beautifully presented studio surrounded by nature. The off-grid house is on a small section of cleared land within a 150-acre wild life reserve, this is a private and quiet place to stay. Although there is currently a flurry of interest in off-grid living to address every Earthly crisis from ecological to cost of living, off-grid is not for everyone. You will either find it an adventurous and romantic change to fast paced modern city living ... or may find it lacking in fandangled appliances, or painfully slow water pressure and internet speed. You get the drift, so please consider your needs before booking :) The studio has an open plan living/dining/kitchen space that opens out on to a huge covered deck. The kitchen facilities are really functional with a variety of cooking options. For cooking there is a beautiful wood cooker (that also heats the water and living space) with cook top and large oven, a two element gas cooker, plus on the deck there are BBQ facilities as well. There are 2 beds, a Queen bed and a Double loft bed with leather couch beneath. There is also and a large bathroom. Guest access Crows Cottage Studio is a self-contained sectioned off area of the house. The large covered deck allows independent access to the studio, and can be used to enjoy a meal, watch the rising sun or do some star gazing from. There is a communal fire-pit in front of the deck, and if the conditions permit firewood can be provided for the pit for a fee. Other things to note The property is off-grid, so everything will be different from the modern city conveniences and that is part of the experience. The water to the house is gravity fed, and lower pressure than town water. Hot water is heated by the wood cooker. We harvest our own water, have a septic tank on the property, and generate electricity with solar panels. Being off-grid we use water and electricity wisely. The outside space is massive and a child's dream, with outside toys such as a flying fox, climbing frame and trampoline, as well as a few marked walking tracks to allow easy escape deep into nature. The yard around the house has fruit trees and some vegetable gardens with surrounding bushland as the consistent backdrop. If you'd like to join us for feeding the chooks or watering the garden you're more than welcome. Mobile reception is generally good for carriers such as Telstra. There is a small selection of books and board games for you to enjoy. Because the studio is semi-rural, there are many different creatures around - including wallabies, koalas and birds. Sorry, pets are not allowed as the block is unfenced and we want to protect the local native animals. We're looking to add a dog fenced area with kennels, so please check my listing again in the future if you have a dog you wish to bring with you.
