Yardarm Cottage - modern coastal retreat

Yardarm Cottage is one of Portnahaven’s finest guest accommodations. Recently renovated, the spacious, traditional stone cottage is finished to a modern and comfortable standard and is equipped to ensure a relaxing time on Islay. With a large kitchen and two lounge areas there is plenty of space to relax, and with three generous ensuites and a small downstairs loo you'll enjoy privacy whilst sharing with friends and family. The back garden has fantastic views over the lighthouse the Atlantic. The space With two lounge spaces and a large kitchen downstairs you'll be spoilt for relaxing space. Our first cozy lounge area has a sofa and lounge chair with fireplace, books, magazines and stereo system. The second lounge area has a large corner sofa, television and several board games for entertainment. The kitchen is a light and airy space, fully equipped with a nespresso machine, microwave, two ovens and other kitchen essentials so guests will feel at home. Our large, reclaimed wood table provides a focal point where everyone can gather round. Upstairs, three good sized bedrooms, 2 kings and 1 twin are comfortable, warm and cozy, ensuring a great night's sleep. All bathrooms are generous ensuites, 2 with walk in showers and 1 with a fabulous Japanese-style soaking tub. Yardarm Cottage is renovated to a high standard and designed with guest comfort in mind. There is a good pub around the corner which serves food should you not wish to cook at home. Sorry, unfortunately we don't accept pets. And finally, there is no smoking inside the property. Guest access The garden area is available to enjoy the stunning views of Portnahaven and the spectacular west coast sunsets. Access to the lawned area is via some steep steps which may make direct access difficult for anyone who may be unsteady on concrete steps. At the top there is a picnic table with views of the ocean all the way across to Donegal in Ireland. Other things to note During the summer season we have a 7 night minimum stay requirement, however we will consider shorter stays when availability allows.
