Experience the charm of a Grade II listed cottage in the heart of Southwell. Full of character, the cottage features original wooden beams, low ceilings and a traditional, narrow staircase. Thoughtfully and gently renovated, the cottage blends vintage character with modern comforts for a warm and welcoming stay. Step straight out onto one of Southwell’s main streets, with independent shops, cafés, pubs and local landmarks to enjoy just moments away. The space The cottage is arranged over two floors and offers a cosy, characterful layout. Downstairs you’ll find a comfortable living room and separate dining room — ideal for relaxed evenings in or long, leisurely breakfasts before heading out to explore. The compact kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge, dishwasher, induction hob and oven, providing everything you need for preparing simple meals during your stay. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and one with a double bed. A Jack & Jill shower room connects the two bedrooms, creating a practical and convenient layout for couples or friends. The Location Located in the heart of Southwell, the cottage is perfectly placed to enjoy this beautiful market town. Browse independent shops, visit the popular Saturday market, and discover a great selection of pubs, cafés and restaurants — all within easy walking distance. There are plenty of nearby attractions including the beautiful Southwell Minster, historic National Trust Workhouse, Southwell Racecourse, and numerous scenic countryside walks. Southwell is well connected by bus to Newark-on-Trent, Mansfield and Nottingham, making it an excellent base for exploring the wider area. Good to Know The cottage is intentionally a TV- and WiFi-free space, offering a chance to properly switch off and unwind. The rear yard is currently unfinished and due to be renovated this year. Due to the steep staircase and low ceilings, the cottage may not be suitable for guests with additional accessibility needs, or children. If there’s anything you need for your stay that isn’t listed, please feel free to ask — I’ll always do my best to help. Sometimes, we are able to offer one night stays for a surcharge, please get in touch to check availability. Guest access There is no parking at the property, but there is a payable carpark behind and free on street parking available a short walk away. There is also electric charging situated at Bramley Car Park (BP Pulse) in the town and the BP garage. Access is via a lockbox. Other things to note Sorry, we do not allow pets in the cottage. Strictly no smoking or vaping.
