Other things to note 🧾 Important information about VAT According to Decree 297 of 2016 of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia, foreign visitors who purchase a plan or tourist package to be used exclusively within the country may be exempt from paying VAT, provided that their trip is for tourist, cultural or medical purposes. To apply for this exemption, the visitor must present their passport with one of the following immigration stamps: PIP-3, PIP-5, PIP-6, PIP-10, TP-7, TP-11 or TP-12. It is essential that the immigration stamp is duly registered in the visitor's passport. If you have entered the country using the BIOMIG system, the visitor must go through immigration control and request the corresponding stamp in order to access the VAT exemption. In addition, to make the exemption effective at the airport, the visitor must present the invoice for the tourist services purchased, demonstrating that they comply with the requirements of the decree.
