Highfield House in Bury, South Downs

Highfield is a spacious five-bedroom family home in the South Downs National Park, ideal for relaxed group stays with plenty of room to spread out. It suits families, groups of families or multi-generation groups who want space, privacy and comfort, with generous communal areas, multiple en-suite bedrooms and flexible sleeping arrangements. This is a family home, set up to be practical, comfortable and easy to enjoy for both short breaks and longer stays. The space Highfield has five bedrooms with flexible layouts. Please let us know your group make-up and we’ll prepare the rooms accordingly. Bedroom 1 – Master Super king bed with en-suite. A separate, non-walk-through dressing room can take a travel cot and has blackout blinds, making it ideal for guests with a baby. Bedroom 2 – Top floor King bed with en-suite. The largest bedroom, with an optional sofa bed (set up on request). Well suited to a couple with one or two young children. Bedroom 3 King bed with en-suite. Comfortable and simple, ideal for a couple. Bedroom 4 Super king (can be split into twins) plus a small sofa bed. Can be set up as a super king, twins, or up to three separate beds. Bedroom 5 Twin beds. Fresh bed linen and towels are provided. Downstairs living space Downstairs is centred around a large open-plan kitchen and dining area. The main dining table seats 10, with a breakfast bar for 2, and an extension can be added to the table to seat up to 12 at the table. There is a separate games room with a pool table, air hockey and table tennis, plus a dedicated cinema room for relaxed evenings. For quieter time, there is also a more mature lounge designed for adults to unwind away from the main living areas. Outside space Highfield sits within approximately 1.7 acres of garden, with lawn and mature trees, offering plenty of space for children to play and adults to relax. There is ample off-road parking, secured by a gated entrance. CCTV covers the driveway and gate only and does not affect guest privacy. Outdoor furniture is available during late spring, summer and autumn — please check availability if this is important for your stay.
