The Lion Ball at Luftslottet

Description

Lejonkulan is a cozy rebuilt military trailer from 1958 located in the corner of my mill yard Luftslottet, right by the small river and embedded in the greenery of nature. There is room for one to two people and it is very easy to supplement your accommodation with the other guest houses at Luftslottet, subject to space. The Lion Ball has a rooftop terrace and access to outdoor kitchen, guest bathroom, tree house & farm museums. Experience a unique and bohemian stay on an artist's farm! The space Lejonkulan is a renovated and rebuilt military workshop trailer from 1958. The bed is 140 cm wide and fits 1 - 2 people. It has a sun terrace on the roof and is located in the corner of the yard, right down by the river. It has electricity and lighting and a bathroom + guest kitchen is located about 100 meters from Lejonkulan. You bring your own bed linens and towels or buy them on site for a fee of SEK 95/person. Guest access You are welcome to use the yard, outdoor kitchen and tree house. You will have access to the mill and the museums by arrangement. The miller's house and the courtyard in front of it is my private residence. If you are up late in the summer night, remember to keep a quiet tone of conversation. Other things to note Luftslottet is the name of the historic mill farm with a few acres of land, a river and a number of buildings where I, the artist Jonas Liveröd, have lived and worked since 2016. I moved home to Sweden and fell in love with this Västgötland mill from 1854 and have devoted almost ten years and an incredible amount of time and love to restoring and developing the farm. Here is my home in the miller's house, in the mill is my studio, the guest house, the red salon and many other highly personally created rooms. Not least the two museums, the Vanity Pavilion and the museum The Liveröd Wunderkammer. In these, I show my colorful and lively collections. The farm is very unique and has what can be described as a pleasant bohemian atmosphere. I love to build according to my own ideas and the outdoor kitchen, which is inspired by Pompeii's antique kitchen, was added last year. The year before, I built the Vanity Pavilion, which is another museum on the farm with special collections. On the property, there is also the guest house in the mill located just below the museum and under construction are two more guest houses. I have the big barn for sculptural work. It is important to know that the studio is a very active artistic workplace with ongoing projects of different natures and is therefore not a cleaned and tidied place. This is a vibrant and authentic artistic environment to which you are welcome. THE MUSEUMS: On the property, there are two museums and overnight guests have free admission to these. The museums are open on weekends in June and August and by appointment. Opening hours are between 12 noon - 4 pm. You'll even have access to the summer kitchen located on the mill house's patio, where there are also opportunities to grill! Up in the farm's linden trees there is a tree house which you as guests are welcome to use. I would like to see that the tree house and outdoor kitchen are not used after midnight, but you can sit in other parts of the yard in a quiet conversation tone far into the summer night. I often work with various chores on the farm and with sculpture in the studio or barn, this means that sometimes it can be noisy from my machines, during the summer I work a lot outdoors. But around 7 pm, it becomes quiet. You are welcome to use the yard at the mill and down to the river, the miller's house and lawn are my private residence. BATHROOM & TOILET: NOTE: The bathroom is located in the green building and is shared with other guests. There is a shower, two toilets and the bathroom has a mosaic floor I created myself. The washing machine is private but can be used by agreement. I adapt my washing to how guests want to use the bathroom. To reach the bathroom, you enter the green house at the outdoor kitchen. Opposite the bathroom is my carpentry workshop, which is also a place used for work and to which guests do not have access. Wi-Fi is available on the farm but currently does not reach across the farm from my home to Lejonkulan, so it is better to use your phone for this. But visiting Luftslottet is a good time to put the phone away and enjoy country life and explore the farm's many surprises. Duvets and pillows are available in Lejonkulan. Own sheets and towels are included but can be purchased for SEK 95/person. The price is exclusive of Airbnb's service fee. The guest is responsible for cleaning the home before check-out. Cleaning can also be arranged for a fee of SEK 500. Extra blankets are provided under the bed in Lejonkulan. Ask if you need anything else. During the season, there are lots of wild berries around the farm, which guests can pick, crayfish are in the river but may not be fished. The river also has a shy beaver family. In the area there are plenty of moose, deer, pheasants and other animals. My farm is a very lively place for artists and visitors. PRACTICAL INFORMATION: There are bicycles to borrow on the farm, by bicycle it takes about 20 minutes to Götene center (6 km) and by car 10 minutes. In Götene, there are well-stocked grocery stores, pharmacies, liquor stores, some restaurants, etc. SURROUNDINGS: Just one kilometer from Luftslottet, Svenstorp Art Center has recently opened, which is well worth a visit. Kinnekulle with its magical nature, Vänern's beaches and cliffs and the areas around the municipality are very good for nature and cultural experiences. The area's historical heritage is exciting and rich, with Varnhem's monastery, rune stones, petroglyphs and churches from the 1100s-1200s, among many other things. Swimming opportunities are available in both large Vänern and small warm lakes, but you need a car to get to these. Within a radius of 30 km are the cities of Lidköping, Skara, Skövde and Mariestad. Welcome to Luftslottet!
