Designed by award-winning architect Godridge Samuel, The Lone Pine Villa is a tranquil mountain retreat in Mahakanda, Kandy. Each room is positioned to capture stunning views of Adam’s Peak and the Hanthana range. Located near the Pekoe Trail, Katusu Konda, University of Peradeniya, and Kandy’s historic sites, it’s perfect for both exploration and escape. The space Exterior Exposed steel structures and minimalist interiors blend effortlessly with the natural surroundings. Our design philosophy is rooted in intentional simplicity—letting nature take center stage. Rooms The villa features three unique ensuite rooms: 1) The Upland Room – Offers scenic views of the nearby upland tea factory. 2) The Lone Pine Room – Looks out onto the villa’s namesake: a solitary pine tree standing gracefully against the mountain backdrop. 3) The Closet – A warm, intimate space thoughtfully designed to make you feel right at home. Location Just 30 minutes from Kandy city, we’re perfectly positioned near popular attractions such as the Pekoe Trail (Stages 1 & 2), Katusu Konda viewpoint, lush tea estates, the University of Peradeniya, and Kandy’s historic sites. There is also an unprotected staircase, which might pose an issue if you are traveling with children. Our two villa dogs are very friendly and fully vaccinated, they'd love to welcome you and keep you company. They do not come inside the villa or the rooms, but if you'd like them to be kept away during your stay, please let us know Guests can order from a custom menu featuring organic produce from our home garden and local flavours. Vegan and Vegetarian meals can be made available, upon request. 24 hours notice is required if you'd like to place an order from our menu
