Self-catering family accommodation in a renovated farmhouse from the 1930's. Experience a farmstay at Bezalel Wine & Brandy Estate, just outside of Upington in the Northern Cape and enjoy a free tasting of our award-winning products. Situated on the N14 highway between Upington and Keimoes, on your way to Augrabies Falls or the Kalahari desert... or make a holiday out of it and explore the Real Green Kalahari. The space The farmhouse is situated about 100 meters from the main facilities, such as the Garden Cafe and the Tasting Room. Guest access The unit has access to a large stoep and braai area. Please feel free to use the ample supply of firewood provided - if you require more, please ask for a top-up. The stoep overlooks the lower Orange River Valley and our irrigation dam. You are welcome to take a walk or a bike ride through the vineyards. The dam is naturally filtered and even though not sanitized, is perfectly safe to swim in. Please note that children must be supervised at all times. Other things to note Your booking includes a complimentary wine, brandy, and liqueur tasting experience - which is redeemable from our Tasting Room during standard trading hours - Unfortunately not available on Sundays. Please also note that we are not a guesthouse or hotel, we strive to offer an authentic Green Kalahari farm stay experience. As such, the area surrounding your accommodation might be considered as "rough" or "unkept" by some, but this what an operational farm in a rural area looks like and odds are that someone might drive or park a tractor in front of your view if farm work requires it. Similarly, this being a farm, you will inevitably encounter a range of bugs - mostly gnats, fruit flies, and disease-free mosquitoes but also some pretty unique ones, and poisonous ones - and rarely perhaps some scary reptiles such as snakes and large water monitors. And whilst we take every care to keep the farmhouse bug and critter-free, if these are things that might bother you, then perhaps a farmstay is not for you.
