The two independent gîtes offer the perfect balance of togetherness and privacy, making them ideal for extended families, grandparents, or two families holidaying together. Set within nearly 12 acres of peaceful countryside on the edge of a quiet village, guests enjoy exclusive use of a large 12 × 6 m swimming pool, a separate toddler splash pool, pool house, spacious gardens, outdoor dining areas, games barn and recreational spaces. With private gated entrances, beautiful rural views and plenty of room for both adults and children, Les Champs de L'Oume is the perfect countryside retreat. ## L'Oume Lodge *A cosy countryside retreat for families of up to five guests.* Perfect for a family, this welcoming single-storey gîte features two bedrooms—one with a double bed and the other with three single beds, including a bunk bed. The bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay and opens directly onto a private patio and garden with a picnic bench, ideal for outdoor dining and relaxing in the sunshine. ## Mirabelles *A spacious character barn conversion with its own games barn, ideal for larger families.* This exceptionally spacious 160 m² barn conversion is full of character, natural light and high ceilings, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Inside you'll find two generous bedrooms—one with a king-size bed and the other with three single beds—each accessed by its own staircase, creating a unique and flexible family-friendly layout. The king-size bedroom benefits from its own adjoining shower room, while an additional downstairs WC provides extra convenience. The large fully equipped kitchen includes an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and filter coffee machine. A generous dining table with chairs and bench seating makes it ideal for relaxed family meals and long evenings together. Next door, the spacious separate living room offers comfortable sofas, a TV and an additional table perfect for board games, cards or quiet reading. Attached to the gîte and accessed directly from the kitchen is an impressive 72 m² games barn. This fantastic space includes table football, table tennis, a basketball hoop and plenty of room for badminton, roller skating, family games or simply relaxing out of the midday heat. The barn also contains an additional toilet and sink. A third staircase leads to a bright loft-style family bedroom featuring a queen-size bed, two single beds separated by a screen, and a spacious en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and toilet. This peaceful bedroom enjoys lovely views across the gardens and surrounding countryside. ## Outdoor Space Outside, enjoy a large covered dining terrace with seating for up to 14 guests, perfect for long, relaxed meals overlooking the gardens and surrounding countryside. Beyond the terrace, a spacious boules court and adjoining sand play area provide fun for all ages, while the extensive gardens are dotted with fruit trees, including seven Mirabelle plum trees that gave the gîte its name. ## Private Pool & Outdoor Living Situated between the two gîtes is your own private swimming pool area, reserved exclusively for your group. The large 12 × 6 m swimming pool is perfect for swimming and family fun, while the separate shallow splash pool provides a safe place for younger children to play or for adults to cool off on hot summer days. The pool area also includes a pool house with changing facilities, a toilet, fridge, sink and worktop, along with loungers, deckchairs, parasols and a beautiful shaded dining area beneath mature wisteria. With comfortable seating, outdoor dining, games and plenty of space to unwind, the pool area naturally becomes the heart of the holiday. ## Additional Information Guests are welcome to explore the surrounding fields and enjoy the peaceful countryside setting. The extensive grounds provide plenty of space to relax, play and reconnect with nature. Located on the edge of a peaceful village, the property offers a tranquil rural setting while remaining within easy reach of local markets, restaurants, historic villages and many of the Charente's best attractions. Our large secure barn is also ideal for storing bicycles, canoes, kayaks and other outdoor equipment during your stay. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, bringing generations of family together or simply escaping to the countryside with friends, Les Champs de L'Oume offers the perfect setting to slow down, reconnect and create lasting memories. Guest access The estate has two separate gated entrances, one for each gîte, each with its own generous private parking area. L'Oume Lodge is accessed via a private entrance to the side of the property, while Mirabelles is reached through impressive gates at the rear of the estate, leading along a beautiful tree-lined avenue. When booking the whole property, you'll have private access to both gîtes, the swimming pool, games barn, gardens and all guest outdoor spaces. Full directions and arrival information will be provided before your stay. Other things to note A welcome pack containing everything you need for your stay will be waiting for you in the gîtes on arrival. It includes the Wi-Fi password, information about the property and local area, along with our contact details should you need anything during your stay. We live in the farmhouse at the front of the estate, with our own separate entrance and private courtyard. We respect our guests' privacy while remaining close by if you need any assistance or local recommendations. You may occasionally see us tending the gardens or maintaining the pool, but we'll always leave you to enjoy your holiday.
