Watch the sunset over the Puget Sound or relax by the fire after a day exploring Seattle. This home is dynamic enough to make anyone feel like they're at home. Its best suited for quiet families looking to relax and enjoy quality time together. The original blueprint of this house was built in 1935 as a beachside bungalow. It was remodeled to accommodate an active, imaginative and constantly growing family. The family’s playfulness and attention to detail makes it as much a sanctuary as it does an inspiration. The common spaces invite connection not only to those sharing it but with the beautiful landscape of the Puget Sound, leaving lasting impressions on everyone who stays here. All guests will have full access to the main house and property. The main house sleeps a total of 10. The property managers live in the basement apartment and will be available should you need any support during your stay. Parking There is enough parking in the drive way for 4 cars with plenty of free 24hr street parking. Walking Our home is at the bottom of Richmond Beach Drive. There is plenty of flat paved walking options however, if you want to walk to the park or to nearby restaurants, you will have some uphill walking to do. Access to the beach and nearby parks are mostly flat. Additional space The guest house may be available upon request (sleeps 2, $100/night). Please inquire if you are interested in including the additional spaces in your rental. Group Size We do no rent to groups larger than 10 despite the sleeping amenities. The guest house can be rented to make sleeping and living arrangements more comfortable. Thanks for your understanding. The house managers live on the property in the basement apartment and may be there during your stay. They will be available via phone/text if you need anything during your stay! Located in Richmond Beach, this house is a part of a 150 year old waterfront community 12 miles north of downtown Seattle boasting beach shacks and mansions. It's safe and ideal for families. With the downtown Seattle area just a 25 minute drive away and the quaint seaside town of Edmonds is just 5 minutes away this is a prime location to retreat or explore. Public bus at the end of the road can take you all the way into the heart of Seattle. You could also grab the commuter train from Edmonds into the city! However, having a car is the most convenient and time sensitive way to travel into the city. Uber/Lift prices range from $15-40 to get to/from Seattle depending on the time. Our home is full of character and has a Wabi Sabi personality. Every surface has a story and every piece of furniture is unique. The family’s life is present in the home as are the quirks of a old well loved house. Here are a few additional things worth mentioning before you consider this home a right fit for you: 1. This home is great for families but not so great for those looking to host large groups or parties. While we enjoy both of those things ourselves, we simply can't accommodate groups who are going to be disruptive to the neighborhood. 2. There is a strict 10pm noise curfew. We love our neighbors and our neighborhood so this is very important to us. Groups who break the curfew will be asked to leave. 3. Our family is close and the footprint of the house reflects that! This house is best for families who are comfortable sharing bathrooms and sleeping quarters. Most of our bedrooms are open concept or have multiple beds within. 4. The BNSF railway runs between our house and the beach. While this is obvious for most, some renters are surprised by this when they arrive. The trains run day and night. Our beach access requires crossing tracks, and being agile enough to walk down a rocky pathway, which is not comfortable for some. However, there are two very close and convenient public crossings to access the beach within minutes! Public access is our preferred and recommended way guests get to the beach. 4. There is a rental agreement that guests are required to sign before their stay. Any breech in this contract and the owners have the right to take the entire damage deposit.
