The Old Stables at Edmond's Castle *Special Offer*

Description

The Old Stables is a private guest suite in Fethard (near Cashel), one of Ireland’s "best examples of a medieval walled town." The property is tucked away in a leafy garden, beside the ancient Town Wall and between two 15th-century castles, connected to a Jacobean townhouse. Location: The Rock of Cashel is a 20 minute drive away – experience its cafés, pubs, and restaurants – then return to your historic refuge. 40 mins: Kilkenny 1hr: Waterford 90 mins: Cork 90 mins: Limerick 2hrs: Dublin The space The Old Stables consists of: • A private entrance into a hallway, with its own dining area. • A galley kitchenette with a refrigerator, electric hob, dishwasher, toaster, and kettle. • A cosy bedroom with a Victorian brass double bed and a 50-inch smart television. • A shower room with a state-of-the-art Grohe shower. • A south-facing living room which can be used as a bedroom to accommodate a third guest comfortably. • Connected to the living room is an area shaded by an overhead pergola, leading into your own walled garden. • Private off-road parking for one car, on-street parking also available. Guest access The guests have exclusive use of all of the above features. Other things to note Fethard itself offers several amenities within a five-minute walking distance. We are home to a local delicatessen, café, and restaurant (along with our fair share of pubs). A morning in Fethard can begin with hot coffee and fresh pastries from Alla’s Patisserie. A light lunch – a sandwich, salad, or quiche – can be enjoyed at Emily’s Delicatessen. Finally, Sadler’s restaurant is open all day, every day, and on selected evenings. At the weekends, food and sometimes live music are on offer at McCarthy’s – one of Ireland’s best-known heritage pubs, almost as old as the medieval walls around it. Fethard is also home to Coolmore Stud, one of the world's most renowned horse breeding operations. The story of Coolmore is told in the Fethard Horse Country Experience, a museum located in the 400-year-old town hall. The lush countryside is home to many trails, and we are surrounded by mountain ranges – Galtee, Knockmealdown, and Comeragh – to satisfy your wanderlust. Fethard also lies directly beneath the panoramic peak of the famous Slievenamon (the Mountain of the Women). The town itself is home to the River Park, the Fethard Town Park, and walks along the town walls. Other amenities include: • A public EV charging point • Two pharmacies • A small supermarket • A petrol station The Old Stables offers you an authentic and unique experience while not sacrificing accessibility to Ireland’s most celebrated landmarks. Come and discover this ancient secret!
