Kererū Guesthouse is situated on a beautiful farm, with scenic rural and coastal views. A modern, comfortable space to rest and unwind and watch the animals. Historical Dunedin is just a 15 minute drive away with all the shops and restaurants you could need. The space Positioned on an idyllic 20 hectares of grazing, forests and streams, Kererū Farm Stay NZ is home to both Kererū Cottage and Kererū Guesthouse accommodation options, where you can enjoy the rural views down the Waitati Valley to Blueskin Bay and the Pacific Ocean beyond. Kererū Guesthouse is a spacious two bedroom, 2 bathroom suite with its own private entrance and its own private well equipped kitchenette/dining area to prepare meals in, plus an outdoor patio with BBQ and small garden (which can be fully fenced for pets when requested). The Guesthouse: Blueskin Bay Room is a scenic and spacious Queen room with ensuite bathroom (shower wet room), lounge area, Smart TV, patio with outdoor seating & BBQ. Fantail Room is a comfortable room with Queen bed and a Single bed. It includes an ensuite bathroom (shower wet room), Smart TV and complimentary tea & coffee. A Portacot is available on request. The Guesthouse also has its own separate kitchenette/dining area with fridge/freezer, hot water urn, toaster, microwave, plug in hot plate, kitchenware, and utensils. We are happy to dishwasher anything you use, especially pot and pans, as there is no main sink in the dining area (just sinks in the bathrooms). Just let us know and we’ll come and collect it. Alternatively you can fill the washing up bowl provided for smaller items. Drinking water is safe from the bathroom taps or the chilled water in the fridge. Please let us know if you used the BBQ so we clean it for the next guests. Please note- whilst the Guesthouse is separate with its own entrance, the building is attached to the main private farmhouse. Kererū Cottage, next door, can also be booked if you want completely separate accommodation, need space for more guests or want a full kitchen. It is also dog friendly (with a fully fenced garden). Please check our other listing. We are rural so be prepared to drive off the main SH1 highway and down our gravel road. Expect nightly wildlife sounds, insects, windy tree sounds at times and amazing dark starry nights and at times the Southern lights. Please refrain from smoking, preparing/cooking fish or spicy foods. Underfloor heating throughout the Guesthouse or convection heaters for instant heat. Quality linen and towels provided No extra pet fee or cleaning fees - but please be respectful. Parking is allocated outside the Kererū Guesthouse private entrance. Please do not block Kererū Cottage allocated parking. Guest access Check in is from 4:00pm and check out by 10:00am. Early check ins/check outs are not available so please do not ask. The Guesthouse will be unlocked or details will be given before you arrive. Parking is right outside the Guesthouse private entrance on the left. Please do not block the rest of the drive. Other things to note Local shop and great cafes just 5 mins drive in Waitati. Doctors Point Beach and Warrington Beach 10-15 minute drive (both dog friendly) The Leith Saddle and Mount Cargill walking tracks are just up the road. Along with Sullivans Dam for a tranquil fishing spot or the popular Orokonui Ecosanctuary. Dunedin is just a 15 minutes drive with all the supermarkets, restaurants, historic buildings and access to the peninsula, including the Royal Albatross Centre and Penguin viewing, stunning Sandfly Bay with resident Sealions.
