Description
Cozy cabin surrounded by nature, hiking, and the Neversink river. Short walk across the field to the trailhead for Slide & Table Mountains. River access with a fire pit. Dogs are allowed (with rules found in house manual) but other pets are not. Wifi is now strong enough to support video conferencing if you would like to be able to work from home. The space Two bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Wood burning fireplace in the living room. Picture window overlooking a field, forest, and mountains. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. There is a pull out couch in the living room that fits two people. Coffee: There is a regular coffee pot with filters, please bring your own coffee. Bathroom with shower/tub. Please bring your own personal care items. Antibacterial hand soap provided. There are many games, including playing cards, scrabble, checkers, chess, backgammon, uno, Yahtzee, scattergories and cards against humanity. There is no TV. There is no cell service at the house. A land line is available for local calls only. We will provide you with the phone number so that friends and family can reach you at any time. If you need to make outgoing long distance calls, we recommend purchasing a calling card. There is no central heating or air conditioning. In the summer the house stays cool with open windows and fans if needed. In the early spring and late fall, heat comes from the fireplace and/or space heaters. Long term stays: please note that we do not have a washer or dryer available. There is a laundromat about 40 minutes away in Liberty. Families with children are welcome but the house is not baby proofed. You are solely responsible for the supervision and safety of your family. Guest access First level of house, picnic area, lawn, and BBQ outside. River access is shared with the main property. Barn is for parking and firewood storage only. Part of the field is surrounded by an electric fence and may have horses inside. Do not go inside the electric fence area. The attic and the main section of the barn are locked. Other things to note Please be mindful that we share this land with many forest creatures. You are likely to see deer, please do not feed them. Black bears occasionally visit the apple trees, if you see them stay a safe distance away. You may hear coyotes in the woods at night, do not let your dog outside, off leash at night. Remember to pack bug spray and check for ticks after spending time outdoors. Ticks can be killed by cutting them in half or enclosing them in tape. If the tick was attached to you for more than 24 hours you can save it and have it sent to be tested for Lyme.
